Jay and Erin walked into the bullpen together holding hands. The team excitedly greeted them.
"Hey, look who is back!" Ruzek hollered as everyone took notice.
They all hugged each other, glad to have their entire team together again.
That afternoon Jay and Erin took a few minutes away from the case and walked into the break room. Ever since they first felt the baby kick, Jay was obsessed with wanting to feel her stomach.
Erin laughed and said, "Jay, the baby isn't even kicking right now. You don't always have to have your hand on my stomach."
"Fine, but let me know when you feel it again."
"....Let's buy a house," Erin blurted out.
"Buy a house? That's sudden."
"Well why not? We are going to have a baby soon. We need more room with a yard for him or her to play in and maybe a dog," she was starting to get excited.
"Maybe you're on to something. I'll go to the bank and see what we can afford. Why don't you call that guy, Mark, who lives down the street. Isn't he a realtor?" Jay said.
"Yes I will. Let do it!"
They went their separate ways and each took care of everything they planned. They have some appointments coming up to look at houses. These were all big steps in their lives. They hadn't planned on having kids yet, but God planned otherwise. Buying a house is a big deal and a big step they knew they needed to be fully ready for.
