Two days later, Jay was released to go home. He had cuts and bruises and was still extremely sore, but he was glad to be alive and on the mend.
"When do you think Hank will let me go back to work?" Jay asked Erin.
"Um I'm the one you have to worry about," Erin said giggling. "In due time, all in due time."
They both walked into the house and Jay collapsed on the couch, completely sprawled out like a teenager. Erin made them both dinner while Jay relaxed. Together, they enjoyed their meal.
"Thanks for making dinner and for taking such good care of me."
"You're welcome, I hope the meal wasn't too bad."
"Eh, it was alright," Jay jokingly said winking.
"Want to watch a movie?" Erin asked.
"Sure, if I can stay awake."
Before she knew it, Jay was snoring loudly on the couch, which was good, because rest is exactly what he needed. After the movie was over, Erin carefully woke him up and helped him walk upstairs and into bed. He was still having trouble moving around.
     "I love you," she said.
"I love you too," replied Jay.
After what they have both been through the last few days, they were treasuring each moment they were together. They couldn't wait for things to get back to normal.
