A/N: Small rape mention.
"No, stop!" I scream, watching as the men hold a dagger to my father's neck.
"Run away, sweetie." Daddy whispers softly. I shake my head, tears streaming down my cheek. I refuse to, I'll never leave him alone with these monsters.
"Why are the bad people doing this?" I whimper to myself. Mommy told me there were mean boys that would want to hurt all of us, but it's only me and him. Where is she? Why can't she help him?
"Times up." The guy presses the knife deeper, drawing blood.
"You should do what your daddy says." He mocks. I turn back, not knowing what else to do.
"Please don't hurt him! I'll give you all my copper but please, I beg!" I cry out, not daring to look at those horrible humans.
"Oh trust me," another cackles, "The knife is doing the damage, not us." Lies, my father once told me that only the weakest uses excuses as poor as that.
A strangled gasp escapes from someone, then nothing. I rock myself gently on the wall, sobbing into my maiden dress. What sounds like a body falls to the floor, and the pitter patter of feet walking away not towards me, but to another room, alarms me. Did dad get hurt by the big men?
I look his way, and cry even louder. Blood is seeping out of his neck, and his whole body is still. My lunch seems to want to come out.
"Mother!" I yell out, hoping she'll barge in here and comfort me. But she doesn't. I repeatedly scream her name, believing that if I do it enough, she'd come.
"Don't worry!" A man calls out, the first voice that finally answers.
"We'll be having our fun with her, every. Single. Day. You won't see her again." Well at least mummy will be happy, right? Fun is good?
Someone shakes me awake.
I slowly open my eyes, getting welcomed by a blurry person. Daniel stands over me, a terrified expression on his face.
"Oh my god, what happened?" He asks. I groan, not wanting to remember the nightmare that still taunts me.
I wave, signaling that it means nothing and he shouldn't worry. His face morphs into anger. Oh, here comes the mood swings.
"I'd be damned if I believed that I shouldn't worry. You were shaking and screaming, do not tell me that was nothing." He seethes. Are mates supposed to be this protective? I must be screwed then.
I push him off of me and slowly back up.
"I'm being serious." He glares at me, obviously not liking that answer. I sigh. Men.
"Fine, I'll tell you. Not a big deal anyways I guess."
I clear my throat and start.
"Short version is disgusting humans took my father away from me, slit his neck when he was in the same room as me. And for my mother, I later found out that they raped her for 5 years straight." I spit out in disgust. He places his hand on my own, rubbing circles to calm me. It doesn't help though, 600 years and nothing has came close. Well, except killing others of their own kind.
"It's not healthy to take your anger out on innocent people though." He mutters.
"It's not healthy to be as cold hearted as humans but they find a way."
He remains silent, not sure how to reply to that.
"Well," I clap, attempting to get rid of that depressing topic. "How about we have some funnn?" I say, drawling out the 'n.'
