"You're back isn't as straight as a real queen's."
"Your pinky needs to be fully extended when drinking tea."
"Keep your fangs away, they'll scare away the guests."
"You have to look pleased, not bored, love."
I slam the fork onto the table.
"Keep talking and I'll make sure your death is slow and painful." I warn. The instructor gives me a pointed look before shutting up.
I sigh in relief, rubbing my temples. Damn people, can't close their mouths for one second.
This morning has been consistent of bending backwards, practically popping my poor pinky out of its socket, and many other torturous things to be queen.
I hated it.
Maybe vampires can pull the stick out of their asses and accept their future queen for who she is: A badass, sadistic bitch. And if they don't like it, they'll answer to my fangs.
"We're done here." I announce, standing up from the table. The girl shakes her head, opening her mouth to disagree, but I glare at her. She stops herself hesitantly, to my pleasure.
"Maybe you can silently judge my legs when it's walking my ass out of here, tell me if they're going too fast or not." I tell them and walk out.
I begin to journey back to Daniel's room, but catch something from a few passing guards. Their voices are in hushed whispers, but my vampire hearing allows me to listen in.
"Killed... Humans... Patients..." That's enough for me to know exactly what they're talking about.
I speed up the stairs, soon standing right in front of the door.
I remember Daniel saying that there is a specific code to enter, and curse under my breath.
Being almost-queen should give me the priviledge of knowing this secret language. How else am I supposed to enter his room unsolicited?
"Queen Ava." A guard says, coming up from behind. Two more come from the sides.
I turn around to look at them, smiling brightly at them. Maybe they know another way I can get in.
"Hello!" I chirp. They don't say anything, just stare at me with a stone-hard expression.
One of them pulls out a handcuff and places them on my wrists.
Well that was unnecessary.
"You're under house arrest."
They lock it, and I simply grin.
Do they really think such a mediocre device can hold me down? Well, I'll let them believe it for a short amount of time. After I'm in the room, I'll yank them off of my hands and continue on with my life. Maybe Netflix and chocolate, this castle seems to be full of Kisses.
"Thank you! Now can you let me in the room, I'm having just a little bit of trouble."
They look at eachother in sync, and back at me.
"We don't know how to, Queen Ava."
I roll my eyes, they're worthless. And why do they keep referring to me as Queen? The coronation isn't even close yet.
I kick one of them in their soft spot, and kick another to the wall. The last one shifts into his fighting position.
He charges at me with a spear, and I wait until he's close enough to hit. Once he's in reachable distance, I trip him over to the wall and wrap the handcuffs around his neck. Effortlessly, I move my hands and snap his neck.
