Vol 2 - Chapter 23 [Relaxing Banquet]

A week later.

There was a letter from the King, an invitation to a banquet at night a week after the subjugation. Not just me, Saya, Misha, Musha, and Kelyn got invited too. We all go together with a carriage, prepared by sis Annie.

For this special day, I ordered some dresses for the girls. They were all reluctant to accept it since the dress looks expensive in their eyes. I need to persuade them to the point I forced them to wear it, otherwise it will be wasteful. The banquet was held by the King, you know? There's no way I would let them wear something ordinary, but again, I myself wear a more moderate suit that doesn't look grand or too ordinary.

Musha wears a green-ish dress, red-ish dress for Saya that matches Sis Annie's dress, black but somewhat cheerful color for Misha, and yellow-ish color for Kelyn. Each of them don't have any eye-catching color so they won't attract any unwanted attention.

Arriving at the palace, we were all greeted by various maids and butlers and led to the Palace's Dining Room.

Inside there, we were shown our respective chair. The dining room was truly extravagantly prepared. Plates, spoon, forks, and knives orderly put on the table for each guests to use later. The room really looks spacious since we are the first guests that arrived.

"The King is really going all out for this dinner, isn't he?"

"Yeah, although he said it was just a small dinner party, this obviously doesn't describe 'small' at all. Look, even the other girls become restless"

"Hahaha, you're right, Arlan"

Sis Annie and I make a small talk while waiting for the other guests to arrive.

Then sis Lida and Gira arrived after us. They also led to their chair while bowing to us.

I can't imagine how Sis Lida looks like when she's on a dress but, looking at her now, I can see her nobility was not just a title for nothing.

Her dress has the same quality as sis Annie's dress but since she has quite good body shape, the dress really looks good on her. Not just that, the way she's behaving tonight really shows that she's also a noble, unlike her knight-like manner from a week ago.

On the other hand, Gira wears a suit that is hidden under his robe. The robe doesn't cover all his body since it wasn't a full-body robe. It still shows the chest part.

After both sis Lida and Gira arrive, the door from the inner palace finally opens for the last guests. Miss Vevein and Sir Vian came from that door and stood next to the door for the main people entering.

Yeli, Prince Barhan, the Queen, and the King himself, they all enter the dining room. Greeted by all the maids and butlers in the room, they took their seats followed by Miss Vevein and sir Vian.

Yeli waves her hand towards me so I wave back to her. Seeing our interaction, sis Lida, Gira, and prince Barhan surprised by it. They all have a question mark on top of their head.

"It seems that everyone has arrived. First, let me say one or two words regarding tonight's dinner. The reason all of you invited today is because of the successful operation of saving my son, the second prince. This main objective is only known by the people in this room. Although Mother Daria couldn't join us today, I've rewarded her before--"

The main reason the subjugation operation was started one day earlier than the schedule was to save the second prince, Prince Barhan, from any risk of delaying the operation. This objective was only informed to us, Mother Daria, sis Lida's companion, and me. Of course, I told the girls about it too and probably Kelyn also told about it by Mother Daria.
