Samantha was awaken by Emmy jumping up in her bed. This was normally how she was waken up, by a dog right in her face, spinning in circles around the bed. She sat up and patted Emmy on the head, throwing the blanket off of her. She put her feet down, and ruffled her hair. Looking at Alyssa in the doorway, she smiled and walked towards her, hugging her with a tight embrace.
After hugging and saying good morning to Alyssa, Samantha made her way downstairs to the kitchen. She looked out the kitchen window and saw the faint light coming from the street, far down the driveway. She knew it was cold, because there were droplets of rain on her window, and she could see the top layer of the lake was frozen. There were brown tracks in the snow from where the animals with muddy feet had trotted through, trying to find food.
It was quiet, and rather peaceful looking outside. But that's the way Samantha liked it. She checked the clock, which read 8:18am. It was a bit later than she had planned to eat but she didn't mind it too much. She grabbed a red pan from the pan drawer, and set it on the stove. She grabbed the oil and spread it on the pan, and turned on the stove letting it heat up. Once it was heated enough, she grabbed the eggs from the fridge and cracked them into the pan, making breakfast for the both of them.
She let the eggs cook, and once she took them off, she threw some bacon in the pan. While the bacon was cooking, she grabbed some bread and put it in the toaster. She took the butter out of the fridge and buttered the toast. Once the bacon was done, she took it off and put it on the plate, along with the toast. She grabbed two glasses from the pantry and grabbed the orange juice from the side door of the fridge. She poured two even glasses, and set the plates up at the back table.
Samantha enjoyed making breakfast because she believed it made her more responsible each time she did it. Once she had the plates set up, she grabbed two napkins, along with two forks, and two spoons. She set up the silverware with the plates and looked at her masterpiece.
"Alyssa! Breakfast is ready!" She called out to her sister, who was still upstairs getting ready.
She heard her sister come running down the stairs as she sat down to enjoy her food.-Time skip-
•12:00 pm•Samantha sat in her bed, bored and tired. Her and Alyssa had already eaten, and she did her chores for the day. This included, doing the dishes, folding the laundry, and walking the dog. She was careful not to fall while walking Emmy this time, and once she got home she took yet another shower.
She hadn't heard from her mother. She said she would be home late but she was just gone. Samantha assumed she was just stuck at work. Though, she had never been gone this long. She was supposed to be home all night, but she was also supposed to leave again for work in 2 hours. So she decided to text her.

Hey mom, I was just wondering if you were going to stop at home or if you were just going to work for 24 hours. Maybe it was just overtime but I hope you can get back to me soon. I'm starting to get worried. Please text me back as soon as you get this, thanks mom.

She sent the text, and shortly after her mother opened it, but there was no response what do ever. She didn't want to bother her too much so she left it alone. Samantha went downstairs, looking for Emmy. Samantha walked in the living room, her feet thumping on the floor, looking for her sister.
