She looked in the corner of the room, and a tear formed in her eye. She missed seeing Scarlett there. Scarlett's blanket laid on the floor, along with her book. Samantha picked it up and began to cry quietly. She held the piece of paper in her hand, sniffling. She crawled over to the blanket, and picked it up.
She heard footsteps coming down the hall, and she quickly put the blanket back down. She shoved the piece of paper in her pocket and covered her stomach with her arms.
Dexter opened the cell, and held out his hand for Samantha. She denied his hand, and walked towards him, keeping her hands on her stomach. She shivered when she walked into the hallway. Dexter grabbed her by the waist, moving her hands. Samantha looked the other way, as Dexter put on her shirt.
He stepped back and gazed at her. She adjusted her shirt, and took a deep breath.
"Are you..alright?" Dexter asked.
"Yeah.. I guess, why?"
"Your face is, changing color."
Samantha's eyes widened.
"O-Oh.. uh- I'm just a bit insecure.."
Samantha mumbled.
"What does that mean?" Dexter asked.
"It means-..."
Samantha tried to think about how to explain it.
"You know the feeling you can slightly get when you do something right?"
Dexter nodded.
"Thats the feeling of being proud."
He tilted his head.
"I feel the opposite way, about myself. That's what insecure basically is."
She scratched the back of her neck and he nodded.
"Okay, well,"
Dexter began.
"Rexter said, you need to learn a lesson."
"What..?"
"You let them escape. And now you're the only one up here. Therefor, I get to do whatever I want with you."
Samantha got extremely worried.
"You're gonna come outside with me, and you're gonna help me find all of them."
He picked her up and set her down in the cell. The bars had already been replaced, and they were brand new. Samantha was exhausted and didn't wanna test breaking them. He shut the door and turned around, walking a short distance away from her.
"Get some rest, I'll be back for you later."
He walked off down the hall.
Samantha rubbed her head and sat down on the floor against the wall.
"This is gonna be awful.." She mumbled to herself.
She slowly rubbed her fingers through her hair, putting her head on the wall. She looked over under the bed, and saw how dark it was under there. Leaning over, she grabbed Scarlets blanket and crawled under the bed. She covered herself up, and faced the wall, slowly falling asleep.
