Samantha looked up at Dexter and reached for the blanket. She took it and held it in her arms. A small tear formed in her eye, but she quickly wiped it away.

"Are you.. crying?" Dexter spoke sternly.

"What? No..." Samantha stared at the ground.

"You are.."

"So what? It's not like you care anyways!"

"Humans are so soft... wasting their time crying over something that is long gone."

Samantha looked up at him in disbelief and he tilted his head up. Samantha assumed he was looking around, but she couldn't tell because he had no pupils. His jet black hair moved swiftly with his head turns, and Samantha got a cold chill. He was so careless, as if nothing bothered him at all.

Dexter grabbed Samantha's arm in a sudden movement, and dragged her back to the cell. Samantha didn't question this. It was her second day in the asylum still, and she needed to go to sleep. She hadn't touched her food, but she was truly exhausted.

Once they reached the cell, Dexter threw her inside, almost disrespectfully and shut it. He looked down the hall with what Samantha called an "angry" expression. Dexter wasn't supposed to have much emotion, but when he did, it was only expressed with his eyebrows. They slanted down as he made a growling noise and sprinted off down the hallway.

Samantha got up off the floor, and stood at the bars, watching him run down the hall, taking the first turn.

He was going towards the door. Samantha sighed and turned around. She fell on her bed with a soft thud, and rolled over to face the wall. She closed her eyes and heard Scarlett speak up.

Scarlett cleared her throat.
"Samantha..?" She spoke quietly.

"What is it, Scarlett?" Samantha sat up and looked at her.

Scarlett suddenly got shy.
"Um.. you don't have to look at me.. I was just wondering if you would like me to sing you a bedtime song! It's.. in my book." Scarlett smiled softly.

Samantha smiled back in response and nodded her head, laying back down. Scarlett began to sing softly. Her voice sounded distressed, and hurt. But when she went to the higher notes she sounded like an angel. With every word, Samantha could tell that Scarlett was in pain. It wasn't on the outside, Scarlett was scarred for the rest of her life.

Weather the rest of her life be in this building, or if she somehow managed to escape. She would never be the same. Samantha's thoughts overwhelmed her brain, and she slowly fell asleep, listening to Scarlett sing.

Samantha jumped awake to a high pitched scream. The scream sounded like a girl, in her teens. Samantha got up, and walked to the bars. She focused her eyes and saw Dexter watching her from afar. His face blended in with the darkness, as his eyes were a bit darker than the rest of his highlights.

Samantha rubbed her eyes softly, and dropped to her knees, putting her head on the bars. She felt very sick. Her stomach was aching in pain, and she couldn't help but hold her stomach. She rested her forehead on the cold bars, cooling her off. She looked up at Dexter again and tapped on the bar.

Dexter darted over without hesitation, as if he had been waiting for her to signal him. He kneeled down in front of the cell, and there was another loud scream from down the hall. Dexter let out a sigh and tilted Samantha's head up with his finger. She was sweating, and she looked down the hall.
