Confused.
That's what I was, I was confused. Who messes with your mind this, he kept playing these mind games and I never know how to react.
I walked home quickly, hoping he wouldn't follow me. I know he wouldn't, I know he would want to give me as much space as possible. I kissed him back, I'm not sure why I did. It was so sudden, I've dreamed of being his everyday but thinking that I actually could possibly be with him makes me nervous, what if we don't work.
We have had so many ups and downs during our time knowing each other, what if it's a sign not to be with him.
As I opened my door, Chase came running up to me, "You ran away from Ben?"
"What? How did you know?" I said as I pushed past to get into the warmth of the house.
He sighed as he dragged me into the kitchen, "I told him to go for you, Sam I'm you're twin. I can tell you are into him, I don't understand why you can't see that he wants you too."
I look back at Chase as I start to walk up the stairs, "Chase I don't want to talk about this right now, my thoughts are all over the place."
I flop on my bed and look out my window, why does my life have to be so confusing at the moment. I've been just fine the past 17 years of my life until now.
My first thought was to call Gretchen but I know is on a date with Cooper and I really don't want to interrupt over stupid boy drama.
So I trudged out of my room and down the stairs and headed to the basement to talk to Chase.
I lay on his bed while he is at his desk working on some of his homework, he spins around and looks at me. "Have you finally come to your senses?"
I laugh as I fiddle was the teddy bear he still had from when he was a baby, "I think it is possible that I have been avoiding the truth, I do want to be with him."
He gives a little hum as he rolls his pencil between his fingers, "So what finally made you admit it out loud?"
I mumble, "I realized life is too short not to take chances."
He chuckles as he slams his math book closed and hops up from his desk chair, "Well I feel like this gives me a good excuse to get out of school work."
Within seconds Chase grabs my arms and begins to drag me up the stairs, "No time like the present."
Just like that Chase pushes me out the door and onto the porch and locks the door.
I shutter from the breeze of coldness that quickly overcame me, "Chase let me back in right now, it's cold out here."
I hear his muffled voice through the door, "Not until you go to Ben's house and admit you want a relationship with him."
I think about it for a couple seconds before I decide to make my way across the street.
I knock on his door and wait for a little while, to my surprise his little sister Emma opens the door.
"Hey Emma is Ben able to talk?" I ask as I wrap my arms over my chest to keep warm.
She gives me a once over, "Well actually Ava is over."
She nods her head past me and I turn to see a grey Honda parked on the street, I must have been oblivious to it when I was walking over here.
My heart drops a little as I turn back to face her, "Oh well I'll just come back another time, please don't tell him I dropped by."
With that Emma closes the door and I begin my slow walk back to my house.
Chase must have watched the whole transaction through the dinning room window because he was quick to open the door and hand me a cup of tea with a sympathetic look on his face.
