I walked into school with fumes coming out of my ears. I don't know who that guy thought he was, blaming me for the accident he almost caused.

I looked back at him and saw a girl walking up to him, and I could tell she wasn't happy.

I walked in to find my locker, I met with the guidance counselor the day before, so I was on my own. Luckily Chase got a locker right next to me; I looked over at him and saw he had already made friends.

"Hey Sam, this is Dylan and Cooper," Chase said.

Dylan did a quick wave, and Cooper shot me a smile.

"They are both on the baseball team," Chase said.

I nodded and heard a voice echoing, "Come on, Coop and Dylan, we have to stop at the coach's office before 1st period."

Disgust overtook my face; it was the boy from earlier. He walked up next to me and looked stunned to see me again.

"Hey, I apologize for earlier. I'm not as bad a driver as it looked," He said.

"It's all good."

"Well, anyways, my name is Ben; where are you guys from," Ben said as he turned to look at Chase and me.

"Ohio, we had to move because of my father's work."

"Oh, I'm sorry, that must suck having to move for senior year," Ben said as his two friends slowly started walking toward the athletic hallway.

I just nodded my head as I closed my locker door.

"Alright, well, sorry for this morning, but I'll see you around," Ben said with a faint smile.

As he and his friends turned to walk away, I saw him look back at me and smile. I gave a weak smile and decided to head toward my 1st period.

It took me about 10 minutes to find my class, so I was late. I walked into the Business/Accounting class, and the first thing I noticed was him. He was hunched, overwriting something frantically on a piece of paper.

Am I going to have every class with this guy?

"You must be Samantha Reynolds."

I looked over and saw the Business teacher; he was passing out huge ass packets that we would need for the quarter.

"Well, Samantha, I put you next to Ben over there," He said as he pointed; I knew exactly who he was talking about.

"Okay, thank you so much," I said as I forced myself to smile.

I plopped down right next to Ben and kept my eyes straight ahead. I could sense him looking at me; he wasn't a bad-looking guy.

He had shaggy Chestnut colored hair that was the perfect amount of poof, and it curled right behind his ears.

I looked over at him to see he had green eyes that sparkled and a couple of sun freckles around his nose. He also had a perfect jawline and perfect tan; it looked like he was out in the sun a lot.

He whispered, "It seems like you can't get enough of me today."

He was smirking, and just as I was about to say something, Mr. Q, our teacher, cleared his voice, "Samantha, why don't you introduce yourself."

I coughed and slowly stood up. "Um, hi, my name is Sam. I'm from Ohio, and I used to play softball before I moved here; I hope to play in college."

"Wow, that's so interesting, Sam; we could use the help on the softball team," Mr. Q said with a big grin.

Ben looked over at me with a perplexed look on his face. "You don't look like you would play softball."

"You don't look like you'd be such an ass, but I guess the world is full of surprises."

He was just about to say something when his phone went off. He groaned and picked it up, typing something fast and slamming it down. I looked over and saw he was responding to a girl named Natalie.

Probably his girlfriend.

After 1st period was done, I was heading out the door and saw a skinny brunette with her arms crossed, looking directly inside the classroom.

She was a little shorter than me and had jet-black hair in a tight ponytail and blue eyes. She was wearing a South Oak Volleyball jacket with a pair of leggings.

I could hear Ben sigh behind me as he put on a fake smile and hugged her.

I didn't stick around long, but I could hear her voice from down the hall. So I stopped at the bulletin board to see that the first softball conditioning practice was today.

I quickly checked to see when I had lunch, so I could go home soon and grab my bag and a change of clothes.

After Chemistry, Pre Calculus, and Government, I took a sign-out pass and headed to my house for lunch.

When I arrived home, I grabbed my softball bag from out of the garage and ran into the house quickly to grab a change of clothes.

As I was heading out to my car, I saw the same black Audi from this morning sitting in the driveway across the street.

I did a tuck and roll quickly, shoving my bag and clothes in the backseat to ensure I was not visible in the front seat.

I looked out my side mirror to see he had a pair of cleats in his hand; I closed my eyes, waiting for him to leave so I could.

I heard a knocking on my window and saw him standing outside my car door.

"Do you seriously think I wouldn't recognize this Jeep after this morning?" Ben said with a slight smirk on his face.

I rolled my eyes as I sunk lower in my seat.

"There could be 20 other Jeeps in this town just like mine," I said with a tinge of annoyance.

"Well, I haven't seen any others with an Ohio license plate still on the back."

"Okay, well, I should be returning to school now."

As he began talking, I rolled up my window and backed out, leaving him alone in my driveway.

I didn't need to get close to a boy with a girlfriend.
