I was never the type to get nervous. I was always confident.

I look up in the stands to see Emma, Mary, my mom and my dad. He stuck around, I've been slowly letting him get to know me again. It's nice to have him back in my life even if he ends up leaving tomorrow.

The game went by pretty smoothly, since it the final game we play 9 innings.

Coach planned on pitching me the whole 9 innings but of course when the 9th inning rolled around my blood sugar was low.

I couldn't finish the game, we were up by 1. I could see the worry in my coaches eyes as he sent Jacob out there, he was a junior.

Jacob relaxed and got into place, he pitched one pitch at a time. Soon there was 2 outs, Jacob was doing good.

There were runners at 1st and 3rd, Jacob started missing the zone.

He was behind in the count 3-0, my coach finally stood up from his bucket and called time.

He shouted over to me, "Ben do you think you can finish this out?"

I check my blood sugar on my phone, I was 80.

I nod at coach as I grab my glove, I take 4 warm up pitches and I was ready.

The key was I needed throw a fast ball to keep him from getting walked.

I threw one, he watched it go by. The count was now 3-1.

I threw another fast ball, he watched it go by. The count was now 3-2.

I had him just were I wanted him, I threw one last fastball and he whiffed it.

I struck him out, less than 2 seconds later I feel my whole team piled on top of me.

We won the game, we won states.

After the celebration, I run to the softball field. I was just in time to see that Sam was up to bat, I watch her wait for her pitch.

The second she got a hold of it, I knew it was gone.

She just won her team the state title and I was there to witness it.

I hear Cooper come up behind me, "Do you have the bracelet?"

I nod as I pull it out of my back pocket, "I'm giving it to her tonight."

Once we arrived back to our high school, I wait till the softball meeting was over and I wait till Sam was the last person in the dugout.

I cough, she spins around and her eyes meet mine.

"I like you." I said.

Actually I don't like you, I'm in love with you." I say as I step closer. I grab her wrist and clip the bracelet on.

She looks back up at me and smiles, "I'm in love with you too."

That's when I kissed her and when I kissed her I forgot all about Natalie, I forgot about all the secrets. I only thought about her.

She moves to put her arms around my neck, when we finally break apart I see tears in her eyes.

I wipe them away, "Hey hey why are you crying."

She laughs, "These are happy tears."

I laugh as I bring her in to a hug, "You've always been the one."

I can feel her smile, "You've always been the one for me too."
