Her dad got out of the car and I tightly wrapped my arms around her. "We'll work something out soon, don't worry." I assured her. "You'll be okay. I want you to call me if you can, okay? We're going to get you out of here and away from them." I pulled away and she went back inside. I rushed t the bushes near the windows and hid behind on until her dad got inside. I looked through the window, her dad was going towards the kitchen, he said something to her and she nodded, her eyes met mine for a moment before she walked off.

I got up and walked down the driveway, to the sidewalk, stuffing my hands in my pockets as I walked.

~Patrick's POV~

Gerard told me about what had happened to Dawn - her parents took her back home with them. I think it's horrible, she doesn't deserve it. I couldn't understand why anyone would want to hurt her. She's such a sweet girl, and saying that I didn't have feeling for her would be a lie. I had developed feelings for Dawn but I knew that she didn't feel the same way, why would anyone? I'm at fat loser.

I felt really bad for Dawn, I wanted to help her but I wasn't sure how. Mrs. Way had said that they could work something out, but I still worried about her. Her parents are horrible people, and don't deserve her.

I straightened my grey beanie and looked in the mirror. Sighing, I made my way to my door, placing my hand on the cold knob, pulling the door open, shutting it behind me. I was heading to my friend Pete's house.

Once I got outside, I grabbed my bike and got on, and rode down the sidewalk. I took a deep breath of the fresh summer air. It was nice out, the sun was shining and it was fairly warm. A light breeze blew over the trees, sending green leaves flying around. Pink flower peddles that had fallen from the tree they were on were scattered across the sidewalk and streets as well.

I rang the little bell on the handle of my bike as I came up to Pete's house, he was in the garage with the garage door open. "Hey." Pete said as I put my foot down, stopping the bike and swinging by leg over the back, getting off. I put the shiny, silver bar down, keeping it up over by the garage door so it was out of the way.

"Hey." I replied. He had two cans of Lemon-Lime soda in his hands and handed me one. "Thanks, Pete." lifting the little tab on it, opening it, it made a fizzing sound.

"Oh!" He said with excitement. "I got a sick new bass that I wanna show you!" He ran through the garage and signaled for me to follow him, so I did. "It's so cool." He added. He rushed up the stairs and was jumping up and down as we reached him bedroom.

It was a slick, with a red and black body. It was awesome. "Whoa." I said. "That looks sick."

"I know, right?" He added, a smile on her tanned face. He pushed some of his black hair out of his brown eyes and looked over at me. I had my hands in the pockets of my jeans as I stood in his doorway, my gaze lowered. His smile faded. "What's up. Patrick?"

"Oh, I'm just, uh, worried about Dawn." I replied.

"Oh, right." He added, sitting on the end of his bed, I went over and sat beside him. "You still have a crush on her?" I sighed as laid down and folded my hands across my stomach, looking up at the ceiling.

I nodded. "But it doesn't matter Pete."

"Why not?" He asked, looking over at me.

"Because I'm a fat loser."

"Oh come on, Patrick, no you're not." He assured me. I sighed.

"Pete..... Oh, hello there, Patrick." Pete's mom said from the doorway. "There's some snacks downstairs if you want some, but don't eat them all, Mrs. Anderson and her daughters are going to be here soon."
