~Dawn's POV~

I watched as houses and trees went by, out the window of Gerard's car. I rested my head against the window and placed my hands on my lap. We were on our way to my parents house to get my things. I had to come because they weren't sure about what I had. I was hoping that my dad would be at work.

"Hey, you okay?" Gerard asked. I shrugged, not meeting his gaze. I heard him tap on the wheel and sigh a bit. We turned and drove down the road for another minutes or so before reaching their house.

A feeling of anxiety came over me when I saw dad's car parked in the driveway. My eyes widened and my heart rate increased. "I thought he was working." Gerard said as he parked. Seeing tha I was panicking a bit, he grabbed my hand. I met his gaze. "It's going to be okay. I'm not going to let him hurt you."

I nodded and we got out of the car, making our way to the door. My knees shook a bit as we came closer and closer to the door. Gerard glanced over at me before knocking on the door. It took a few moments, but then we heard footsteps coming to the door. My heart rate increased and my hands shook a bit too.

The door opened and my dad stood there. "What?" He asked in an irritated tone.

"We're here to get Dawn's stuff." Gerard answered with a straight face.

Dad stepped out of the way and let us in, not saying anything. Gerard followed me up the stairs, he didn't know where my room was, and down the hallway to it. The door was shut, we opened it and went inside. He looked around at the blank walls and sighed.

I opened up my closet and grabbed my suitcases and a bag out of it. I grabbed a couple and set them down by my dresser and opened my shirt drawer, putting them inside it, they were already folded up in the drawer.

"What about this?" Gerard asked, gesturing to the things in my closet, which were mostly sweaters, and a few dresses. I nodded and he grabbed a suitcase, neatly placing my sweaters in it. Once I finished with that, I put my pants and skirts in it as well as my socks and undies.

I looked around, thinking of what else there was. I decided to go check my bathroom.

~Gerard's POV~

I looked up as Dawn walked by to her bathroom after she finished getting her things out of the dresser. I looked into the closet, there were a few more things, sweaters and a few dresses. One was a tank-top, red and about knees length with glittery belt-like thing along the waist, it was really pretty, there was another pretty one, but I really liked that one, I thought it would look good on her. the other ones were more casual than that one. After I neatly put it away, I looked around to see if there was anything else.

I got down onto the floor, looking under the bed, there was nothing under there. I stood up and looked on top pf the dressers. There were a few things on one, so I went over to see what they were. There were two pieces of paper, a music box, the one Dawn showed me from her aunt's basement, and the CD's I bought her. The pieces of paper were drawings, the ones I gave her.

I grabbed the CD's and placed them on top of an already zipped up bag, as well as the music box. The book was the only thing left up there, I grabbed it and ran a finger along the black cover that had a rose down on the bottom corner. I guess that it was her diary and was slightly tempted to open it, but didn't want to be rude.

Dawn came and stood next to me, making me jump a bit. "I, uh, I didn't look in it." I said, handing it to her.

"I-it's ok-okay." She replied, not taking it.

"Oh, okay." I said. I put it into one of the suitcases and zipped it up. "Is that it?" She nodded. I grabbed two of the suitcases and she grabbed two bags, there was one more.
