~Dawn's POV~
Gerard left back to school, and I had to go back to high school. I couldn't wait to get out of there and go to college or something.
"Dawn!" A familiar voice said. It brought a smile to my face.
"Patrick."I replied.
Without another word he gave me a huge hug. He was good at giving hugs. "How are you doing?" He asked without letting go.
"I'm okay." I said.
He let go of me and smiled. "I'm glad to hear it.." He began, then was cut off.
"Pat!" A voice yelled. I looked in the direction it was coming from. A short boy with black hair and it looked like he had eyeliner on.
"Pete, hey."Patrick said to him. "I'll catch up with you later, Dawn, okay?"
I nodded with a smile and then headed to my locker. Patrick is a very sweet guy, he's a good friend.
As I walked I tightly held my books to my chest, thinking about Gerard. Every timeI thought about him I smiled, I couldn't help it.
~Patrick's POV~
Pete and I walked in the opposite direction of Dawn, and I looked over my shoulder at her as she walked away, Pete grabbing my neck and turing my head back around as I did so.
"Hey!" I said to him as we rounded the corner. "What was that?"
"I thought you were over her, Patrick?"He said to me.
I sighed, he was right, I did say that. "Look, Pete. I-I thought I was but she's just....."
"Patrick, I just dont want you to get hurt, okay?" He explained, placing a hand on my shoulder. "You know she has a thing for that other kid."
"Yeah, I know." I replied, looking down at my shoes. "And I want her to be happy."
"I know, man." And as Pete finished his sentance, the bell went off and we headed to class, parting ways.
I did think I was over Dawn. I knew she liked Gerard and even though it hurt, I just wanted her to be happy. I tried to just except the fact that we can only be friends.
~Gerard's POV~
School has been stressful as hell. I've been busting my ass to get good grades, I didn't want to disapoint my family. It gets hard to manage the stress because stress makes me depressed and I promised Dawn that I wouldn't deal with depression like I have in the past.
"Hey, Gerard." My roomate, Fin, said as he walked in. "What's up?"
"Nothing, much." I sighed.
"You seem stressed, man." He pointed out, running a hand through his blonde hair.
"I am stressed." I replied. "School is stressful."
"Hell yeah it is. But you need to chill out, Gerard." He suggested. I nodded, admiting that I do. "Why don't you come out with me and my friends, we'll have a good time, take your mind off school."
I thought about it for a moment. I don't usually go out and do things so I decided maybe I should give it a try, maybe it will help me relax a bit. "Sure."
"Alright!" He said with excitment.
So off we went. I didn't know any of his friends, except maybe one, but I didn't really know him, he just had been in our dorm before. Outside it was cool, the night air felt nice though. There was a group of four outside that we walked up to, I guessed they were his friends and I was right. He introduced me to them, and then we all went off.
"Where are we going?"I asked, stuffing my hands in my pockets.
"Damen and those two are 21 and 22," Fin began, gesturing to a big, African American guy, and one short kid with dyed red hair, and a tall blonde guy "They're gonna go to a liquor store and get us some booze."
I bit my lips, a bit nervous now, rethinking coming along. I guess Fin noticed my nervous vibe and he bumped my shoulder, giving a careless laugh. "No worries, man, we've done it tons of times before."
"Okay..." I said, unsure.
We went to a park nearbye hile the three older guys went to the shop. Within ten minutes they returned with a few cases of beer. They all cheered for a moment and pooped open their bottles. Fin handed me one and a reassuring smile on his face. I took it and smelled it first. It smelled strong. I'd never had any before, I was curious. I took a sip, it tasted weird, but I took another sip, and another. I was actually really good.
One of the others got out a bag of something, it was kind of dark so I couldn't really tell what it was. Then they starte lighting something and I had an idea. My idea was confirmed when Fin handed me a joint. "Uh..." I began but he cut me off.
"Come on, bro." He insisted, seeming buzzed, he was jumping up and down. "Let loose a bit."
"O-okay." I replied, taking it from him.
I breathed it in a few times and gave it back to him, feeling a little strange. He patted my shoulder and handed me a cigarrete. I put it between my lips and he held his lighter to it, lighting it up. I inhaled the smoke and then breathe out, watching a cloud form in front of my face. I took it out of my mouth and held it between my pointer and middle finger, taking another sip of my drink.
"See? Relax, have a good time."Fin said to me as he put an arm around me, laughing.
"Yeah."I replied, as he taped his bottle to mine.
