Stiles and Scott walk into BHHS that morning talking about the dug up grave, they had Veronica on the phone who was upset that she was still in the hospital for another hour. They are under the impression that Lydia was involved.
“She ate the liver?” Scott asked Stiles slightly appalled.
Stiles scoffed at his friend, before turning to the phone in his hand waiting for Veronica's response“No, I didn't say she ate it — I just said it was missing.” Veronica said defensively, her voice raspy and quiet, knowing that she wasn't supposed to be talking,“And, you know what? Even if she did, so what? It's the most nutritious part of the body.”
“I never ate anyone's liver...” Scott said.
“Yeah, right. 'Cause, when it comes to Werewolves, you're a real model of self-control...” Veronica said sarcastically.
Stiles turned to Scott,“Actually, wait — hold on. You're the test case for this, so we should be going over what happened to you.”
“What do you mean?” Scott asked Stiles.
“I mean, like, what was going through your mind when you were turning, you know? What were you drawn to?” Stiles asked as Scott shrugged.
“Allison.” Scott could practically hear Veronica roll her eyes over the phone when he said that.
“Okay, nothing else? Seriously?” Stiles asked.
“Nothing else mattered. But, no, that's good, though, right? 'Cause the night that Lydia was bitten, she was with you two.” Scott said mostly to Lydia's best friend who was now flipping through the channels on the hospital TV.
“Yeah, but she was looking for Jackson. And you didn't even know Alli when you got bit.” Veronica paused coming across a movie she recognized, she turned her head slightly to see her oldest sister Melanie, knock on the door,“I'll talk to you guys later, okay? Melanie just got here.”
Jackson pulls up in his Porsche and makes a rude comment toward a homeless man digging through a trash can. In the lacrosse locker room, Coach Finstock is giving a questionable speech about Lydia’s disappearance, promising an automatic A to anyone who finds the “naked girl”. Stiles and Scott try to talk to Jackson, but he doesn’t seem to be all that concerned.
Veronica plops her phone down in her lap,“Didn't your doctor's say you're supposed to be resting your voice.” Melanie said in a condescending tone.
“Sure, or we could always use magic and just fix me right up.” Veronica muttered.
“Magic isn't real, and if it was I'm sure that it wouldn't work like that.” Melanie said to her sister.
“Oh right, I forgot that you ran out on us, what I meant was, I'm a witch, you're a witch, Abuelita is a witch, Tia Selena is a witch, our other sister's are witches and dad was a male witch. Yes I know. The only one that doesn't is Matty.” Veronica said crossing her arms.
Melanie glared at her younger sister,“Shut. Up. You're not supposed to be talking, it could ruin your vocal chords.”
“I'm an athlete, not a singer.” Veronica said sassily.
“Isn't a major part of cheerleading, the cheering part.” Melanie said as a rebuttal.
Veronica rolled her eyes,“Can I leave yet, because I'm sure the sooner I'm better the sooner you'll leave again.”
Melanie glared at the girl,“What is your problem, Veronica?”
“You weren't at the funeral. Dad died, Melanie, and you didn't care enough to show up. I needed you. Mattheo needed you. And you were gone. You weren't there. You never are, you bailed on us the night mom died without even saying goodbye. I didn't care that you left me, but you left Mattheo. He was nine. He had no idea what was going on, he just wanted his aunt and big sister. So if you're gonna be gone, atleast have the decency to stay gone.” Veronica ranted, with a raspy, strained voice. “Just text Selena to come and get me instead.”
