Veronica stared down at her tiny self. Stiles had come to Veronica with a proposition, saying they would get married if they weren't married by the time they were 32. Little Veronica wasn't as patient as he was. She didn't understand why they had to wait. Noah and Michelle had spent an hour trying to explain to the kids that they couldn't get married.
But the two five year olds were adamant. So the adults agreed to have a fake wedding. It was sweet.
"Well if we were to get a divorce I would get everything." Little Veronica said. That's right, Veronica thought to herself, This was the day she and Stiles also got a divorce.
"Why do you get everything.. I'm the man." Little Stiles asked.
"Because you signed the prenup, butthead." Little Veronica said, angrily. She had such a terrible temper when she was younger. "Uncle Peter said that I get what I want because of that! Isn't that right, uncle?" Veronica turned her head and seen that Peter was watching them from the porch.
"Yep." He said, frankly not interested in the conversation.
"Veronica?" A wispy yet masculine voice said in her ear. Veronica seen that neither of the two heard it. She slid off the trampoline, and followed the voice to the front yard.
"Ver, don't you dare ride down that hill!" She heard someone yell, Veronica whipped around, the leaves that were scattered across the yard was replaced by a thick blanket of snow. "Ver you heard your mom. She said no going down the hill." Veronica turned her head and seen she was next to a teenager, he was about her age now, his blue eyes and Dark hair was a distinct memory to her. Veronica realized this was her memories.
"Derek.." Veronica whispered softly. She put her hand forward to touch his face. This was a memory she remembered extremely differently. It was Veronica's old babysitter, Darren Hane. Just before Veronica's hand touched his skin, she heard a loud scream. Her head whipped around, she had crashed her bike in the middle of the road. Derek immediately took off for the girl.
Veronica turned and was on her front porch. She was crying, sitting on the porch swing showing her uncle Peter her bleeding arm. "Well Veronica.. your mom did say not to ride down the hill." Little Veronica sniffled and nodded. Peter sighed before grabbing her tiny hands and wrapping them with his large hands. Veronica watched as the darkness in his veins travelled up his arm. He let go of her hands. "All better?" he asked. She nodded softly. Peter stood up and rubbed the top of her head as little Veronica wrapped her arms around him in a hug.
That made Veronica now want to scream out. After what he did to her. He didn't deserve to be treated so kindly by Veronica. Not at any age in her life. She went to push the glass bowl off of the table. But instead her hand went completely threw it and instead the memory had changed.
This one was a memory Veronica didn't remember at all.
Veronica, along with the both of her parents, sat down at the table with the Hales. Veronica sat down in the spare chair, which just happened to be between both of her parents. Michelle looked over at Peter, which made her face more visible to Veronica. Veronica wasn't listening to the conversation, infact it was practically inaudible. Instead, Veronica leaned in closer to her mom to analyze her face with a faint smile.
"Mommy?" Veronica said with a whisper, she had tears rolling down her cheeks instantly. She was suddenly a 6 year old girl again again. Veronica watched as the memory began to blur, and fade away. "No, no. Stay." Veronica's head whipped around,"Dad.. do something! Make it stay!"
Suddenly her father stood up,"We'll see you at home, honey." He quickly kissed her mom before grabbing little Veronica's hand and walking out the kitchen. Veronica didn't move. She wanted to finish this memory until he ended. She looked around the table, Cora, Peter, Michelle, Tatia, etc. Though there were a few people missing, Melanie, Selena, Derek and Laura. Veronica looked back at the little girl. Cora? The name just came to her, she wasn't aware she knew anyone with the name Cora.
