Veronica smiled at Stiles adoringly as he unlocked the keys to the ice rink. They all walked inside. Mattheo, Lydia, Scott, Stiles, Allison and Veronica herself.

Veronica was putting on her ice skates while sitting next to Stiles, "Could it be any colder in here." She said.

Stiles dug around his bag for a jacket, he then grabbed an orange one and held it out for Veronica,"Here you go." he said to her.

She looked at it. "I'm wearing pink." Stiles looked down at the jacket in confusion. "Orange and pink. Not a good combination." She said to him.

"But it's the color of Dora.." He said. Veronica's eyes widened slightly before she laughed softly.

"You can't compare me to Dora Stiles." she said with a smile on her face. Stiles put the jacket back in his bag, and instead he pulled out a Reese's and held it out for her. She glanced at it, Reese's were her favorite chocolate. She considered it for half a second longer before she grabbed the chocolate cups from his hand. Stiles smiled. Happy that she took his candy.

Stiles looked over at her as she opened it. "Okay, um. Maybe orange and pink is not the best. But, you know, sometimes there's other things you wouldn't think would be a good combination end up turning out to be a, like, a perfect combination, you know, like... Two people together who nobody ever thought would be together ever." he said while trying his skates.

Veronica turned to him softly and smiled. "No I can see that." she said to him.

"You can?" Stiles asked, shocked.

Veronica nodded. "Yeah actually. I mean it makes sense. Especially if they've known each other for a long time. Like since they were kids." Stiles smiled at her words. She then looked passed him "I mean.. they're actually kind of cute together."

Stiles followed her line of vision over to Veronica's brother, Mattheo and Lydia as he was helping her up. "Ah, yeah. Them."

"Cute." she said putting the last bite of the Reese's in her mouth.

"Cute." Stiles repeated. "Adorable."

"Hey. Remember when my dad put me in ice skating classes because he thought it would better my coordination?" She asked while standing up.

"And he was totally wrong because you ended up being terrible?" Stiles asked standing up as well. Veronica gave him a playful glare before she stumbled forward. "Oh!" Stiles said, catching her by putting a hand on her waist.

"Okay that was only because I'm not on the ice yet." She said pointing at him. Her head turned at the sound of her phone ringing. “Oh can you hand me that?”

Stiles grabbed her phone and looked at the caller id. “It's Isaac.” He watched her face brighten immediately as she reached for her phone. There went to his heart. Ripped out of his chest and thrown right onto the ice so they can run it over. Stiles never brightened up her face like Isaac did.

Veronica answered the phone and held it up to her ear. That hurt Stiles a lot worse than her smile. She always let him listen to her phonecalls before. It didn't matter who was calling. “Hey... Oh we're good over here... Yeah we're getting ready to go out on the ice... I'm always careful, Lahey... Shut up... Yeah I'll see you when I get back... Okay bye...” she waited a few seconds before softly tossing her phone onto the bench. “Okay, let's go Biles.” she said with a soft smile.

Veronica was much better than Stiles remembered. He and Mattheo stood next to each other and shock while Veronica and Lydia both skated around each other, spinning around. Veronica skated over to them, and held out her hand for Stiles. "Want to see something cool?" she asked him.

Stiles took her hand without hesitation, which made Mattheo roll his eyes,"Always."

Veronica made Stiles go out to the center of the ring. "I'm gonna jump." she told him. Stiles didn't believe her. Veronica skated away from him, she put her hands out to the side before she jumped while spinning around, she the spun around Stiles with an arrogant smile. "Told you so." Stiles let out a breath which made her give him a true smile, a shy smile. "Well... Come on." She said grabbing both of his hands and skating backwards, pulling him along with her as she raised her brows at him.

"You're amazing." he told her.

Veronica blushed softly, at least that's what Stiles assumed, it was either that or her cheeks and nose were pink because of the cold temperature. She held up her hand."Five years. Age 10 to 15." She smiled. Stiles nodded before grabbing the hand and pulling her closer.

"Ronnie-" His words were cut off by Lydia's scream, which immediately had Veronica's full attention as she pulled away from him in pain. She covered her ears and cradled her head.

"Lydia!" She called out, skating over to the girl quickly. She dropped to her knees and slid next to the girl. Veronica was trying to pull her back from whatever had scared her but she wouldn't let go. "Lydia it's me. It's Vee. It's Veronica. I got you. I got you." she slid around to the front of her and made Lydia look into her green eyes. "I will never let anything bad happen to you. Ever."

Veronica sat next to Lydia, they were taking off their skates so Veronica could take the girl home. "You're replacing me." Lydia spoke. Breaking her silence. "I mean... First Jackson. Now you."

"Replacing you?" Veronica said looking over at her. "Lydia nobody could ever replace you. You're my best friend. Alright? Screw everyone else. It's always going to be you." Veronica said to her.

Lydia nodded softly. "But you left with Erica-"

"Erica spent her entire life being bullied.. I'm helping her reinvent herself. I promise. She could never replace you." Lydia brought the girl into a hug.

Stiles watched the two girls. As Veronica leaned into the hug. Stiles watched as her eyes involuntarily flashed orange. Veronica then pulled away and held out her hand for Lydia to help her stand up. Lydia and Veronica were walking out. She turned around and faced Stiles. "Drive safe." he told her.

"What did you want to tell me earlier?" she asked him.

"Oh nothing.. it can wait. You just focus on making sure Lydia's safe." he said waving it off. Veronica smiled softly before getting into her car. Stiles shut it for her and watched as she backed up and drove away. "Fuck."

Veronica walked into Derek's new place. Isaac was sitting with Erica so Veronica walked up to the grown man. Derek looked over at her briefly. "You're back pretty early. Did you have fun?"

"Yeah I did for a bit. But then something happened to Lydia. She started freaking out and screaming." Veronica said, which made Isaac look up from whatever he was doing. "I took her home."

"Did you have to use any magic today?" he asked her. She shook her head simply.

"I haven't used it all day."

Isaac stood up quickly, which made Erica look over at him. "I've been reading your book-"

Veronica looked over at the book he was holding up and smiled softly at him. "That book is actually called a grimoire. it's my book of spells."

Isaac walked over to her and held it out for her to grab, which she did. "Right.. do you think your powers are more limited because of your werewolf side?" he asked.

"Well if anything.. it would make it stronger. As a regular witch you draw your magic from your ancestors and nature. Now being a werewolf is natural for most people who were born into it... supernatural. So I could also draw back energy from that as well.. usually when your magic is kind of messing up it's because you did something to defy nature or even your ancestors. Either that or I used to much of it." Her explanation did nothing but confuse the boy. She smiled softly. "Okay now that my powers are weak and limited if I use too much I could fizzle out completely, pass out or die." She told him simply.

"That's bad." he said with a smile. Veronica nodded at him.

"Very bad." She said while looking up at him and into his eyes. Derek didn't like what was happening right now between the two of them. His beta and his little cousin.

"I found out who the next beta will be." Derek said, making Veronica turn away from the boy. He pushed a photo infront of Veronica.

"Boyd.." She said softly, looking at the photo.
