Nari watched Heeseung walk away from her. It felt like he was taking a piece of her heart with him. She was scared. Even though he said he'd go back to being her friend... she wondered if things would ever be the same between them.
Taking a deep breath, she walked over to where Sunghoon was still sitting on the bench. She sat down beside him, but he didn't look at her, he didn't even move. He looked so lost in his own thoughts that he didn't even notice her.
She waved a hand in front of his face, snapping his attention to her.
"Hey, I'm back," she said, smiling at him.
He gave her a small smile in return. "Is everything... are you... is everything okay between you two?" he asked, his words rushed. He wasn't looking at her face anymore, he was back to staring at his shoes.
"Yeah..." she said softly, sensing that he wanted to ask more, but that he was afraid to do so. "We decided to just go back to being friends."
Sunghoon looked back up at her again, his smile a little brighter now. Something like relief shimmered in his eyes. "Really?"
Nari nodded, taking his hand and getting up, pulling him up with her. He looked at their hands for a moment before interlacing their fingers.
She felt her face heat up, and it took a tremendous amount of self control to stop her hands from going to her face, to feel if she was indeed blushing.
"What was it you wanted to tell me?"
As she looked at him, nervousness flickered in his brown eyes again. After a moment of thinking, he shook his head, giving her a bright smile and squeezing her hand.
"I'll tell you another time. Do you want to go get something to eat?"
