Nari walked into her mom's flower shop, certain that her mom would be able to tell right away that something was up. She just couldn't wipe the silly smile off her face.

But when she entered, it was clear that her mom was preoccupied with something else. Or, someone else, to be exact.

"My, how you've grown!" her mother exclaimed, hugging Heeseung. It seemed as though he just arrived. "How's school? Are you liking it? Is it a lot of work? Do you have a lot of friends?"

Heeseung laughed, seeming happy by her mother's attention. "I like school," Heeseung replied. "But it is a lot of work. I wish they'd ease up. And I do have a group of friends. The kids there are really nice."

"That's lovely," her mother said, looking over and finally noticing that Nari had arrived. "Nari, you're here! Did you see that Heeseung came back for a week?"

Nari smiled, walking over. "Yeah, we met the other day briefly," she said, trying to stare at Heeseung without being obvious. Was he okay? Were things good between them?

"Well I have work to do, so I'll let you two catch up some more," her mother said, walking away to go tend to the new order of flowers.

"You look really happy today," Heeseung commented as soon as her mother was out of earshot. "Did he finally confess? Or did you?"

Nari couldn't suppress her happy giggle, no matter how hard she tried. She raised a hand to her face, feeling herself blushing again.

"He confessed," she admitted, unable to look Heeseung in the eye. "And we're dating now."

There was a pause, then, "I'm happy for you," Heeseung said.

She looked up, her heart hurting when she saw the sadness in his eyes. She wanted to hug him and tell him how sorry she was, how much he did mean to her, even if it was just as a friend.

Perhaps noticing the worry on her face, Heeseung's smile widened in an effort to hide his sadness. "I mean it," he insisted. "I'm sincerely happy for you."

He sounded more convincing saying it the second time.

She gave him a small smile, an apology springing to her mind, but she pushed it back. "I'm glad," she said softly.
