∼ Time Skip to that night and 3rd person POV ∼

(Y/N) and Pacha are sitting nice and warm by the fire as Kuzco is shivering next to the large, cool rock. With a sigh, (Y/N) gets up while taking off his (coat, poncho, whatever you're wearing) and walks over to the shivering Kuzco. Placing it on top of Kuzco, Kuzco immediately stops shivering.

"There," (Y/N) whispers, "that should keep you warm. Maybe warm up your heart too," With a little chuckle, he places a kiss on Kuzco's head and walks away.

Kuzco's eyes dart open as he quickly raises his head, looking at the (coat, poncho, whatever) draped on top of him. Then he looks over to (Y/N)'s retreating figure and watches as he interacts with Pacha before laying down and falling asleep. Kuzco stands up, careful not to drop his new blanket, and walks over to the fire.

∼ Kuzco's POV ∼

I sit next to the fire with Handsome's (coat, poncho, whatever) draped over me. I got to find out what his name is. I can't keep calling him Handsome, even if it does suit him. Pacha looks over to me surprised and hesitantly greets me. I say hello back and we sit there in an awkward silence before Handsome starts shaking in his sleep, muttering and whispering words I can't make out. Pacha immediately reaches out to him, petting his hair and whispering sweet nothings. These get him to calm down quickly as he goes back to a peaceful sleep and Pacha moves back to how he was sitting before.

"So... what was that about?" I ask Pacha.

"Well, sometimes he gets these nightmares. Usually there about losing his family, either his original one or ours. He can never remember ones about his original family; that leaves him more upset then the actual dream does."

     "Original family?"

"My wife and I adopted him a couple years before we had Tipo and Chaca, my other kids. I found him out here in this jungle, lost and hurt. I convinced him to come home with me to take care of his arm and help him find his family, however once we asked, he couldn't remember them. My wife had fallen in love with him immediately, so she offered to take him in. He agreed, and now we can't imagine our family without him."

I looked over to Handsome, his serene (s/t) face glowing with the flames of the fire. We sat in silence for a little bit before I made my way over the where I was originally laying and make myself comfortable, with a battle in my mind and a face in my vision.

∼ Time Skip to the morning ∼

∼ Also in 3rd person ∼

(Y/N) is crouched next to a pond, using the water to help wake him as, as Kuzco approaches him with (Y/N)'s (coat, poncho, whatever).

"Uh, Hey." Kuzco sits down next to (Y/N) and hands him his (coat, poncho, whatever). "Thanks."

"Oh, uh, no problem" (Y/N) replies as he takes it back. The silence is tense until Kuzco breaks it.

     "Feels like wool."

     "Yeah."

     "Alpaca?"

     "Uh, yeah, it is."

"Oh, yeah, I thought so." Brief pause. "It's nice."

     "My mom made it."

     "She knits?"

     "Crochets."

     "Crochets? Nice."

     "Thanks."

     Another brief pause.

"So... I, uh, never got your name."

     "It's (Y/N)."

"That sounds nice. Well, (Y/N), I've, um, decided that when we get back to the palace, I might uh... change my mind?"

"You know that's doing something nice for someone else, right?"

     "I know that."

     "And you're ok with that?"

     "Yes."

(Y/N) looked at Kuzco suspiciously, getting closer to the other's face. Kuzco slightly blushed and asked, "What?"

"How do I know you're not lying?"

"I shook hands with your Dad about it already. He didn't believe me either."

Suddenly (Y/N) lunged at Kuzco, enveloping him into a hug and thanking him. Kuzco smiled softly and hugged back until Pacha walked over and said, "Alright lovebirds, lets get back to the palace."
