Analia reached the door her chambers. She hated being escorted by guards, as if she couldn't walk herself across the palace.
"You both going to tuck me into bed too?"
She sneered at the guards, they looked at each other in confusion and positioned themselves to guard her chambers.
"Of course." She muttered entering her room. She closed the door behind her, leaning her back against it.She shuffled to her dresser, took her dress off and put on her nightgown. She pulled her hair back to wash her face as she walked into her bathroom. Then out of nowhere, suddenly a hand covered her mouth and an arm was wrapped around her. As she struggled to free herself, only muffled screams could be heard, she looked around for something, anything to use as a weapon, she'd taken her dagger off. Something she never used to do, but today was overwhelming for her. She wasn't ready for this. She continued to fight until she heard a familiar voice.
"Analia, stop it's me." The voice was soft and raspy.
She was turned around and Loki stood before her. When they locked eyes, he removed his hand that was covering her mouth."What are you doing here?" She gasped. Looking up at him
"I needed to see that you were alright." He murmured. His eyes never leaving hers. She could see how concerned he was for her.
"I'm fine, I'm just tired." She shrugged as she broke eye contact with him.
Loki chuckled, "You forget I'm the god of lies, you can't lie to me Analia."
She sighed admitting defeat, pressing her lips together looking at the ground.
"I'm not tired, I can't stop thinking about it. But I told you, I have a plan, Odinson." She smirked.Loki exhaled, he moved closer to her. Analia could feel his breath on her skin. The limited space between them made her tense.
"So you've said, but you haven't enlightened me on the plan Lady Analia." He said softly, his eyes locked on her lips.
She inhaled deeply, looking up at his dazzling emerald eyes.
"All will be revealed." She whispered, as the corners of her mouth lifted into a smile. "Now, I suggest you leave my chambers, I'm a betrothed woman after all."
She said jokingly as she walked to her bed and sat down.
Loki followed her and sat down next to her."Stop joking Analia. I'm worried for you." He exclaimed softly.
She sighed, placing a strand of her hair behind her ear."Since when have I not been able to take care of myself? Loki, I need my father to believe that I've accepted this, if he wants to sell me off to some fool, I won't make it easy for him. The only way to get out of this is to be difficult and humiliate him. My father will not let this go unless I drive this Cassius completely mad that he abandons the idea."
Loki sighed in relief. "You scared me for a second there, I really had no idea what you could possibly be planing to do by agreeing to this, but now I see, you make him miserable. Clever."
She smiled and opened her mouth to speak but Loki spoke again.
"But you're lying. Again." He said softly. His words stung, tears began to well up in her eyes, realising that she'd have to tell him what she was going to do.
"Loki...I can't stay here." She mumbled looking down at her hands.
"Where will you go?" He asked painfully. His eyes never leaving her, he had no idea how long they had left.
"I don't know, I was going to ask Heimdall for help, maybe Midgard." She muttered.
Loki sighed, he shuffled closer to her, placing his hand gently on her cheek.
"Loki..." she sighed
"What? What is it?" He said under his breath, gazing at her lips.
"Don't do this.." She pleaded, she could instantly see the hurt in his eyes.
"Why? Why do we have to keep lying to each other? I care about you Analia." He whispered, his words filled her with remorse. She couldn't leave him, not now. This would be the hardest thing she would ever do.
"I'll come back, when Odin isn't King, when you are, you can stop this."
She murmured."When I am king? You mean Thor."
He scoffed, removing his hand from her cheek, slightly moving back."No Loki, you could be king, you are Odin's son too. In my opinion, you'd make a better king than Thor, he's great in battle but he's impulsive. You are strategic, cunning and intelligent."
Her words warmed him. She was the only person that believed in him, it broke his heart that she wasn't his, that she would never be his.Analia leaned forward, placing a hand on Loki's cheek, gently holding his face, staring into his eyes, seeing the man that had always cared for her. He was right she couldn't deny how she felt for him, even though she pushed it down for years, she didn't know when she'd get a chance again.
Gazing at his lips, she leaned forward, their faces only centimetres apart, she kissed him, Analia's whole body burned.
Loki's hands ran through her hair. He felt as though he was dreaming, he realised how much he loved her. That it was always her, he would never feel this way about anyone. She pulled away, looking deep into his eyes and sighed. "I don't want to leave you. But I have no choice."
