Around three arguments later we made it to a small cafe in town. Apparently it wasn't part of his plans but I was still hungry after throwing that piece of toast at Adrian so we went to discuss everything there.
I ordered a sandwich and he bought some water before sitting down in a booth at the back of the cafe.
"Who did you first think tried to kill him?" Silas asked nonchalantly, taking a drink of his water.
Well that was abrupt.
"Vincent." I replied after a moment and he nodded, setting his water down.
"The guy whose brother was killed by Rhys." He stated and even though it wasn't a question I nodded in agreement, thinking back to that night.
He was silent for a while, obviously thinking deeply when a question popped into my head.
"If you're one of the most feared assassins in the world, why do you need me to help you?" I asked and his eyes snapped to mine. I almost gulped at the intense stare but he replied almost immediately.
"Because even if I know most things about everyone, I don't know everything. You were and are the closest to him so you're my best option. Plus I'm paying your brothers back by doing this even if I don't like them after this morning." He answered me with a shrug.
"They're not always like that-" I began but he cut me off.
"What about your ex? Blake was it?" He asked and my brows furrowed.
"Why-" I started but soon put the pieces together in my head. If it was true, Blaze was a psycho.
I looked up at him and he nodded, standing up and gesturing for me to follow. I slipped out of the booth and followed him back to the car. Once we were both in he started driving in an unfamiliar direction.
He turned down a dark road and my lips parted. Trees hung over creating dark shadows as we drove. Eventually we pulled up to a large mansion and he pressed a button the the steering wheel making the gates open.
There were multiple expensive cars parked and he visibly went from neutral to pissed when he noticed a bright yellow sports car.
We stepped out of the car and he unlocked the front door. Within two seconds a little girl who looked like an exact replica of him ran through from another room and almost crashed into him.
Silas smiled the first genuine smile I'd seen on his face as he picked her up and twirled her while she giggled happily.
Like the softy I am my heart melted at their interaction and I wondered who she was. I smiled at them and the little girl turned to me with a large grin.
Silas put her down and she walked over with a curious frown, analyzing me. At least I knew where she got it from. She then smiled again and held her hand out.
