After my brief discussion with Rhys I returned to my class and he left to enroll in the school again. The bad feeling in my gut hadn't left and I eventually began to lose focus in my remaining lessons. The teachers weren't happy but let it slide.

Once the final lesson was over I debated going straight back to mine and Liya's dorm but decided to get some fresh air instead.

A buzz from my phone startled me and I pulled it out of my pocket with a frown.

Alexander -

Creed is picking you up from school so wait outside when you finish. There's an important business meeting and the entire family has to be there.

My brows knitted together in confusion and despite my best efforts I couldn't shake it. I had never been involved in any of their meetings before, I was practically forbidden to even be within earshot.

Not seconds later Creed pulled up in front of me and I stepped into the car, sitting next to him.

My brother looked unnerved, like he had the same gut feeling I had myself. His knuckles were white from gripping the steering wheel too hard and I finally plucked up the courage to talk.

"Where are we going?"

"Business meeting." He answered shortly and quickly. He obviously didn't want me to push the subject further but curiosity pulled at me.

"With who?" I asked, suspecting he was going to give up and say father. The father that I'd only known for ten minutes.

His eyes snapped to mine with barely hidden frustration before returning to the road. Creed was almost never angry, only quiet, so whoever we were meeting obviously wasn't a nice and comforting person.

"Important people." He stated finally, leaving no room for another comment of the situation.

"Yay." I mumbled sarcastically as we pulled into a parking lot. The building in front of us must've been at least fifteen stories tall and almost only glass.

As we entered a sign above the double glass door read, Van Doren Enterprises.

Realisation flooded my mind and I almost bolted out the building by myself. How long would it take me to get back to school and how much trouble would I be in?

Anything would be better than being here.

Creed obviously noticed and place a reassuring hand on my shoulder even though he didn't look certain himself. We were let into the elevator without question of the two gaurds and Creed pressed the fifteenth floor button.

I wrung my hands together in attempt to control my nerves and suddenly wished I had took my chances and bolted when the door opened.

Immediately I met with another gaurd who stepped out of the way only after a minute.
