I woke up to whispering and opened my eyes tiredly, turning to see my brothers and cousins standing at the door before they scattered like there was a murderer chasing them.
Alessia, who had stayed, gave me a thumbs up and closed the door behind her. I rested my head on my pillow again before my brows drew together. This wasn't my room. I felt movement next to me and looked down to see Victoria with her head resting on my chest.
A small smile pulled at my lips as I looked down at her peaceful face. A sigh soon escaped me though as I thought about everything that had happened over the past few days. When I told Silas I liked Victoria he warned me that I should stay away from her if I didn't know for sure I could make it work.
So, I did, for a while.
As much as I tried though, I couldn't. She was beautiful inside and out and no matter how much I tried to convince myself it would never work, I couldn't seem to stay away.
I knew she liked me at least a bit, or why would she ask me to stay with her?
I was worried about moving forward though when I knew some of what she had been through. I didn't know how to make her happy, not when I couldn't make my family or myself happy.
Why are feelings so irritating?
"You know, for my eight birthday I told no one in particular that I didn't want feelings, that I wanted new clothes." A soft voice mumbled from next to me.
Shit did I say that out loud?
"I see we have things in common." Victoria laughed softly, causing me to look down at her with another smile.
"I need to get up before my brothers come and find me, " She started, sitting up with arm still wrapped around he waist, "on second thought though I might just have an extra ten minutes."
She led back down and I laughed, causing her to look up at me with alert eyes, "What?" I asked.
Vic looked at me with awestruck eyes, "Did- did you just laugh?" She questioned seriously and my brows drew together.
"Yeah.." I trailed off, wondering why she was so excited about it.
"I didn't you could." She admitted honestly and I rolled my eyes, resisting a smile.
"Rude, and we need to get ready for training." I told her, retracting my arm and throwing the covers off me. I noticed her staring at me like last night and turned around with a smirk, pulling my shirt on.
A huff of disappointment sounded from behind me before I heard the bathroom door close quietly. I chuckled and started making my way to my my own room to change.
On my way there I passed Victoria's brother, Demon- no Damon. Alessia had been talking to us all and the name Demon had gotten stuck in our heads. He glared at me and I rolled my eyes, already used to it, before continuing on my way.
