A/N: When asked what his pronouns are, Naruto is the type of person to say "what's a pronoun?" Sasuke, on the other hand, would say something like "Do not refer to me."

At this point in Naruto Uzumaki's life, he was sure that he had seen everything.
The fight was like nothing I'd ever seen before, but no one else seemed bothered. In fact, they were all so excited for it you'd think we were at the Super Bowl.
The so called "Kankuro of the Sand" had opened the wooden box he had strapped to his side to reveal...a puppet.
And a creepy little thing it was, too, with brown straw-like hair, a detachable jaw, and enough holes and triggers to satisfy any chronic button pusher or lever switcher. I found myself with the urge to push a few buttons myself, though unsure of the backlash I would receive.
"Are you sure you're ready for this, mutt?" Kankuro instigated, his grip tightening on the bandages surrounding the puppet. He suddenly dropped the box and brought out the doll thing to stand upright in front of him. How was he doing that?
I could have sworn to seeing a literal tick mark on Kiba's temple.
"Don't screw with me, you creepy puppet master!" Kiba yelled indignantly, growling and forming a sign with his hands. "Ninja Art! Man beast clone!" The smoke cleared to reveal two large dogs, Great Pyrenees, both growling at kankuro and his puppet.
Huh?
"Kiba's—!" I managed, swallowing before taking a shaky breath. "Kiba's a DOG!"
No...
"Kiba's two dogs!"
Tsunade guffawed beside me. "Not quite, Uzumaki."
"Let's go! AKAMARU!"
Kiba and Kiba—no, Akamaru, charged at kankuro, both letting out animalistic snarls. A set of canines attached themselves to kankuro's right arm, the one holding invisible strings.
Before the second dog could get close, the wooden puppet dislocated its jaw, successfully sending a spray of needles right at the animal.
A growl came from the creature as it dodged swiftly, and dark brows furrowed against white fur.
"Your little pet can't stop Crow from operating. He only needs the slightest motion from my fingers to set him off!" Kankuro gave a haughty grin before raising his arm, along with one Pyrenees.
The puppet, presumably named Crow, was now moving quickly towards the animal across the arena. A bark left the dog's mouth as it jumped impossible heights to avoid Crow.
The attempt was futile, though, as the puppet's head twisted a full 360 degrees, and locked onto the position of the wolf-like animal. A long wooden arm shot out at the canine, and managed to wrap around its tail.
It was slammed down to the center with a crash, and as the smoke cleared, Kiba lay dazed in the center of the ring.
With a sharp inhale, I forced myself to keep watching.
Kiba struggled to get back up, but not before scowling and shouting an order at Akamaru.
The remaining pup took advantage of Kankuro's distracted state, leaping off of his arm and spiralling in the air like a tornado.
Kankuro turned his head in time for akamaru to crash into his form, producing a heavy purple smoke.
Moments passed, as the audience waited in painful silence.
