As I made my way to the seat beside Kiba, I felt stares from all over the room.
Students were passing glances back and forth, looking in my direction like I was wearing a hat made of fox fur.
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat and turned to meet some of their gazes. They all turned to the front.
Brows furrowed, I turned back around to meet Kiba's eyes for some explanation. He simply shrugged and turned back to Kakashi sensei.
Running my fingers through my hair, I half-heartedly listened to the teacher for the remainder of homeroom.

"Students, please make sure to look over your jutsu terms and definitions before you enter this room tomorrow. Class dismissed!" Kakashi prodded teens out of his classroom as he began preparing for his next rotation.
I hadn't the slightest idea what jutsu was, but I'd rather not think about it.
I gathered my things and made my way towards Kiba, who stood waiting for me at the door.
"Hold on for a second, Naruto."
I turned to see Mr. Hatake waving me over.
I raised one brow, and told Kiba to go on.
The brunette hesitantly left for his next class as I walked towards my English teacher. "Take a seat for just a moment." I did so.
Kakashi leaned against a desk in front of me, arms crossed. "Don't worry, you're not in trouble. I just have a few questions about your...arrival." His one visible eye was hooded. I bit the inside of my cheek.
He continued. "As I'm sure you're aware, the staff here at Konona high was not informed of a new student coming here. I was surprised, in the least bit, to see you scamper in this morning." He shifted.
I crossed my arms. "I was sent here by my...guardian." It felt strange calling him my guardian, like I was already past Iruka. (I was not.)
"Does this guardian of yours have a name?"
"Jiraiya."
Kakashi then nodded like everything made sense. "I see..." He mused.
I shifted awkwardly in my seat.
Kakashi broke the silence.
"You should make sure to see Principle Tsunade at some point this week."Tsunade? That name sounded familiar.
Kakashi gave me some more instruction, including a school map, and how to get to the principle's office.
"...In any case, we're glad you're here." Kakashi strode over to his desk across the room.
"Who's 'we'?" I mumbled.
Kakashi either didn't hear me, or acted like he didn't.
"Well then Naruto, I'll be writing you a note to give to your next teacher for being late."
I turned in the seat before getting up to take the sticky note from my teacher's hand.
"Thanks."
Grabbing my bag, I looked once more in my teacher's direction only to meet his gaze.
"I think you'll like it here at Konoha high."
I made my way out of the classroom without a second thought.
