A/N: Question of the day: who is your favorite character in Naruto? My personal fave is Shikamaru.

I awoke the next morning to loud music and screaming. Wait, no, that was singing.
"Ugh..." I rubbed my head and sat up.
My blanket was strewn across the floor, the sheets rumpled up at the end of the bed. I stood and stretched, and was about to get dressed, when something grabbed my attention.
A black and white uniform lay neatly folded on top of my dresser. I leaned my head to the side.
Don't tell me...
I jumped as the old man's head popped in the doorway. "Good morning kid! Ready for your big first day?"
I felt sick. "First day for what, exactly?"
"School, of course. Now put on that uniform, and freshen up! Your hair looks like a bird's nest!" He continued down the stairs again.
Now, I've never been to school before, obviously. What I did know about it was what Iruka had told me, and let me tell you, it did NOT sound like Naruto Uzumaki's cup of tea. Believe it.
My head dropped into my hands. I growled in frustration. God, why have you forsaken me in this way?
I raised my hand to my hair, feeling a bit self-conscious after the old man's remark.
I frowned. Maybe I'll take a quick shower.

Once I finished dressing and combing my now damp hair, I looked towards the clock that read 7:30.
"Kid! Get down here, you're gonna be late!"
Panic flooded my system. I was late for my first day! (Since when did I care about that?)
I grabbed my bag that held whatever supplies Jiraiya got for me and booked it.
"Naru-" he was cut off as I ran past him and out the door. Then a thought occurred to me.
I don't know where the fuck I'm going.
"Slow down! Geez, kid."
I turned back to see the old man following me, holding a piece of toast in a napkin.
"Here. Eat something." He hands me the toast as he gets in the car. I took it with thanks and walk around to the passenger's side.

The ride wasn't a long one, maybe 5 minutes from Jiraiya's house. On the way, we passed various other homes, stores, and a ramen shop which piqued my interest.
"Looks good," I had said.
"I'll take you sometime if you want."
"Aw, seriously?" A real smile had stretched its way across my face. "Thanks, old man!"
"Lay off the nicknames! I'm not that old!"
We did, eventually, make it to the pearly white gates (not that kind) of Konoha High.
They sure were impressive, though. I began to get nervous, tugging on the collar of my button-down.
Then, I stepped out of the car.
What. The. Hell.
I gawked at the building in front of me, Jiraiya saying his goodbyes as he drove away.
