A/N: Okay but if you had to choose between having Byakugan or Sharingan, which would it be?

Also: The italics in this chapter indicate a small flashback. You'll know what I'm talking about once you see it.

To eat, or not to eat, that is the question.

It was lunchtime, and I was in deep thought as me and Kiba walked to the cafeteria.

"So I was thinking, Naruto, you should sit with me and my buddies at lunch. I could totally introduce you to everyone...." Kiba's voice seemed to fade away as I continued my internal conversation.

Reason for indecision about lunchtime: Kakashi had mentioned to me that I should go and see Tsunade, who I'd suddenly remembered during math as the big breasted lady from the orphanage.

So, this raised an important question:

Should I eat lunch now and not see her, (an irresponsible choice), or make the smarter decision and visit Mrs. Intimidation?

Kiba waved a hand in front of my face. "Are you even listening?"

I snapped out of it.

"Huh? Oh, sorry Kiba. I'm not sure if I'll eat lunch today." I told him apologetically. "I've got to see principle Tsunade."

"Ahhh...seriously? How come? New kid stuff?" The tan boy furrowed his brows.

"Yeah." I shrugged, rolling my eyes. "New kid stuff."

Gaara had left right after math, much to Naruto's confusion and Kiba's happiness, claiming he had somewhere to be.

"Good riddance, I say." Kiba huffed, as Gaara walked off. He crossed his arms behind his head. "That dude's a total creep. You should be careful, Naruto."

Naruto paused, looking in the direction where Gaara had left.

"Do you guys not get along?"

Kiba tensed for a moment, taken aback at his blonde friend's blatant question.

Naruto looked up with a troubled face and sad cerulean eyes. It was an awfully adorable face for the occasion.

"Kiba, why don't you like Gaara?" Those blue eyes seemed to push gently on the taller boy's mental strength.

It broke.

Kiba let out another huff, and looked away, cheeks warming. Perhaps the red triangle marks would cover it.

"Look, Naruto. It's not like I hate him, he's just not good news. There are some nasty rumors going around about him, and practically everyone here knows not to mess with him." Kiba defended himself, in hopes Naruto would understand and stay far far away from Mr. Sandman.

Naruto's eyes widened. "Nasty rumors? About Gaara?"

Suddenly, a few more things made sense.

How Gaara reacted to Naruto trying to become his friend.

His naturally defensive attitude.

How he disassociated from basically any other teen his age.

"Yeah. They say that when he was in middle school, he was dangerous and aggressive. And whenever he got into fights, the other kid left practically broken." Kiba said in a hushed tone.
