RING! RING! My alarm blared into my ears telling me to get up. Honestly it felt like I had just went to bed; I really wasn’t in the mood for school or anyone’s bullshit today. I slipped out of bed and went into the bathroom to do the whole hygiene thing and freshen up. Soon I appeared back into my bedroom looking for something to wear. I decided on my baby blue skinny jeans with a white tank and a red blazer to go over it. I went back into the bathroom and straightened my hair and put on my blue flats to match.
Once I was ready I went to check on Ciara. Of course she was still in bed sound asleep. “Cee Cee wake up,” I said nudging her until her eyes fluttered open. “Five more minutes,” she whined turning over. “Come on baby girl or you gonna be late for school.”
“I don’t want to go to school today.”
“You never want to go to school but you have to, so get up. We leave in fifteen.” I went into Rico’s room to wake him up but he wasn’t there which was odd since he never got up on time. I went downstairs and found once again a group of guys in my home. This time they filled the kitchen and of course Hayden just had to be with them. I sighed to myself and made my way through the crowd. I found Rico sitting on the counter eating a bowl of cereal. “Hey sis.” I glared at him as if speaking some unspoken language. “If you don’t get off my damn counter now, Imma hey sis you,” I said hitting him upside the head. “Why you always embarrassing me in front of my friends?”
“I wouldn’t have to embarrass you in front of your friends if you would stop bringing these unwanted guests into our home. I’m pretty damn sure they have home everyone could meet at.”
“They insisted on coming here,” he said shrugging. “Who would insist on coming here?”
“I did,” I heard a voice say from behind me and turned around and it was Hayden. I didn’t know what to say. “Rico if you gonna keep bringing these people home they better either start bringing their own food or leaving money for the food they eat cause we are far from rich to be feeding extra mouths.”
“What’s for breakfast,” Ciara asked coming into the kitchen to also be surprised when finding a group of guys in it. “Here I fixed you some cereal. Hurry up and eat it we have to leave soon.” She nodded and took the cereal. “I take it you have a ride to school,” I asked Rico. He nodded and left following the other guys out. “You ready to go Ciara?”
“Yep.”
“Alright come one we already running late.”
“How you getting there,” I heard a voice say. When I turned around it was Hayden again. “I thought you left already?”
“Answer the question.”
“What question?”
“How are you taking little bit to school?”
“We walk, it’s just blocks away,” I said shrugging. “No you won’t I’ll take you, come on,” he said and walked away leaving me and Ciara looking at each other. I gathered our things and locked up the place. He stood by the car with his arms crossed like he owned the world. When we got near he opened the doors for us to get in.
“You know we could’ve walk, I mean we walk every day.”
“Well, maybe that needs to be changed,” he said coldly. “Look I don’t need you to drive us around; we got along just fine before you came.”
“Why don’t you want me to help you?”
“Maybe because I don’t know a thing about you or why you insist on helping us.”
“I have my reasons.” We soon arrived to Ciara’s school since it was literally a right around the corner. I got out and let Ciara out. “You got everything,” I asked her bending down. “Yes Anna I have everything,” she said rolling her eyes at our morning routine. “Did you just roll your eyes at me,” I asked tickling her all over. She started laughing uncontrollably trying to get away, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
