Chapter Twenty-Three

When I got inside Rico was tied up to a chair and it look like he had been beaten up pretty badly. All I wanted to do was go up to him and hold him and let him know I was still for him but the look in his eyes let me know that was not possible. He wasn't the same little brother I had grown up with or the same little brother that would run in my room when it stormed because he was afraid of the thunder. He wasn't the same little brother that was afraid of the monsters under his bed, he was the monster.

"You just gonna stare or say something." Even his voice was cold-hearted. "They told me you were on Kyle's side, why?"

"Does it really matter," he said looking away from me. "Yea it does matter Rico. What the hell is wrong with you? It's like you think the world owes you something or some shit."

"The world does owe me and Imma about to get it as soon as I give them you," he said looking at me with a deadly glare. If looks could kill I would be dead and there was no way to revive me. "We are supposed to be family Rico what the hell have I ever done to you that you would go to the one person that has caused me nothing but pain."

He just laughed evilly, "If we were family then you wouldn't left me when I needed you the most. Soon as you found out the real me you put me out like I wasn't shit so frankly I don't give a damn what happens to you." I saw that as soon as he said that he was hurt and that made me think maybe I could pull him back. I walked up to him and he looked like he was trying to figure out what I was doing. I put my hand on his face and began to stroke it, he looked up and for the first time in a long time I saw my little brother. He leaned into my hand and sighed. This was something I would do to him when he would get scared and it would immediately calm him down. But just as he was back he was gone and yanked away knocking me back on the ground. Hayden came rushing in picking me up making sure I was okay.

"You okay, what about the baby?"

"I'm fine but my ass hurts," I said rubbing it. Hayden walked up to him like he was bout to hurt him but I grabbed his arm trying to get him to stop. He turned around looking at me, "I'm tired of his shit he needs to be taught to not mess with what's mine," he yelled. "Just let me talk to him," I pleaded. He sighed and stepped back letting me finish but not leaving the room. "Rico if you keep messing around with Kyle nothing good will happen. You know what he did to me, you saw me after everything."

"You deserved it," he spat out making my heart drop. I never thought I would see the day when my own blood would turn on me and help the person that made my life a living hell. "Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why would you pick Kyle over me," I now had tears rolling down my face from the betrayal and I just wanted my little brother back. "Because when it was all said and done he was the one that had my back not you. You were too busy too even fucking notice me and now you want me, fuck you. I hope you rot in hell!"

"What about Ciara she loves you, you are everything to her?"

"Shit happens," he said looking away but I could tell that struck a nerve. He was so caught up with this hate he forgot all about the one person that admires him most. The more I stared at him the madder I got. He didn't know shit about what Kyle was capable of, he would pretend to be on your side and then turn on you like it wasn't shit. He was following someone who didn't give a damn about him; he would probably kill him after all this anyway. "You do know that after this you are dead right? Kyle doesn't give a damn about yo ignorant ass. You are just another pawn in his sick game and when he is done playing then that means you are done living. I thought one day maybe you would grow the fuck up but obviously you never will, you will always be a follower and you know where that shit is going to lead you, dead." I turned around and walked out the door with Hayden following behind me.
