Lately Hayden has been hanging around a lot and Ciara has been really attaching herself to him. I think she sees him as a father figure and I'm happy for her but I just don't want him to hurt her. I don't want her to get too attached just for him to up and leave. She has had enough people leave her in her life and I don't want her to go through that again.
Right now I was trying to get ready for school and since today was the last day until spring break, I wasn't wearing anything major. I just wanted to be comfortable so I could get this day over with. I was waiting on Ciara to finish doing her hair since she decided she was old enough to do it herself. I was in the kitchen getting me a yogurt when she finally came down. "Well, if isn't my little diva," I said packing her lunch. "I'm not a diva, I just have to look perfect," she said twirling around. "Come on lil bit, before we are late for school." When we stepped out the door a black Escalade was outside. The driver door opened and it was Hayden of course. "Can I help you," I asked crossing my arms.
"You can get in the truck so I can get lil bit to school." before I could reply Ciara ran up to him and they did their secret handshake. I thought it was cute and annoying at the same time. Instead of arguing I just got in the truck. "Ya'll hungry," Hayden asked pulling into a sneaky Pete's. I shook my head no and Ciara said she wanted a chicken biscuit with apple juice. When he got the food he drove to Ciara School and dropped her off. "Here," Hayden said handing me a bag.
"What is this?"
"Your breakfast, I know when you lying. I got you a chicken biscuit too and hash browns with water."
"You didn't have to do that Hayden."
"I know I didn't have to do it I wanted to; I keep telling you this. Now eat yo food we almost at school."
"Can I ask you something," I said eating some hash browns. "What is it?"
"Why me? You have been hanging around me and my sister more and more and I just want to know why."
"To be honest I don't know why I just know it's something about you that makes me want to know you better." Instead of replying I just nodded my head continued to eat. We soon arrived to school and I was done eating so I grabbed my things and went to open the door but was stopped. "Whenever we go somewhere I open the door for you," he said getting his things and coming around to my side. He let me out and looked down at me. It was like for one moment we were in our own world and we both understood each other.
"Yo Hayden!" one of his friends yelled causing us to break our stare down. "I should go," I whispered. When I tried to walk away I was stopped again, "I'll see you at lunch," he said into my ear. I just walked away and went to class.
I went to my usual class but while I was in English, a new student came. She was about my height with long black hair. She had a light complexion and was skinny as a stick. Soon as I saw that I knew she wouldn't be my friend so I put my earphones on and put my head down. When I was just about to dose off I felt someone tapping me on my shoulder. I looked up and saw the new girl sitting by me. "Hey my name is Angel but you can call me Angie."
"My name is Annalisa but you can call me Anna if you want," I said looking confused. The bell rung and I got up to leave, it was lunch time and I was hungry. "Hey wait can I eat with you, I'm new here so I'm kind of by myself."
"Sure," I said trying not to sound sad. Truth is no one has ever asked to eat lunch with me so I didn't know what to do. "Cool so what are you getting?"
"Probably go to the wing section," I said shrugging. "I like you already," she said linking her arms with mine. Once we got our food she followed me to my spot. We sat down and luckily it wasn't so hot. "So tell me Anna why act so shy."
