Severus took the time to teach her the curse and counter- curse, as well as some others that might make the difference in a battle. He helped her pack, putting together
some important potions and books for her to take. He knew he would regret her leaving tonight, but he did not want to regret this night together with her. He wanted to make love with her before she left, but he was afraid sadness would overtake their mood. He turned on the record player and offered her his hand. She smiled despite her sadness. It was their favorite song, The First Ever I Saw Your Face, and they danced with an awareness that comes from counting the minutes.
'The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave To the dark and the endless skies, my love
To the dark and the endless skies
And the first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move in my hand

Like the trembling heart of a captive bird That was there at my command, my love That was there at my command, my love And the first time ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy would fill the earth And last 'til the end of time my love And it would last 'til the end of time The first time ever I saw your face'
They listed to the soulful voice of Roberta Flack, swaying in tune with each other as much as the music. After the song ended, they remained in each other's embrace, holding on to the moment for all that it was.
"Sirana, we have some time left. Come to bed with me and let's imagine that we will wake up together in the morning," Severus said softly in her ear.
Sirana didn't get a chance to say goodbye when she'd left before to help the Order. At the time, it had broken her heart. She now knew Dumbledore had been merciful in giving her short notice. Each moment with Severus was like slow agony, knowing she may never get to see him again. She wiped all of that out of her mind while they danced. All of this was a gift, and no matter how long it lasted, she would appreciate every last minute of it. Just like life, the ending of it does not erase

it. It is...They are...and even in death, they always would be... When he asked her to make love, she smiled. If it was going to be their last, they would make it worth remembering.
Severus was a bit nonplussed. Instead of leading him into the bedroom, she led him to the bath. He saw the smile in her eyes and caught on.
"Two birds, one stone?" she quipped. "Other than missing you when I was on the run, I missed taking a bath. It's very Muggle-y of me, I know."
Severus's mood lightened a bit at that."I don't think Muggle-y is a word. Remember our first bath together? Before we knew you weren't really a Muggle?" Severus asked, drawing the bath.
"Of course I remember. How could I forget?" Sirana said, undressing.
She's brilliant, Severus thought. All of the dread was gone for a moment, and he felt lighthearted. He slipped into the warm bath with her.
Facing each other, wrapped in each other's arms, and this memory with her was even more glorious than the last—enough to last forever.
They met Hagrid at his hut. He was going to be flying her. Severus brushed Sirana's hair back with his hand, then lifted her satchel over her shoulder. She seemed to glow in the moonlight, and he suddenly felt melancholy. She smiled at him, and he felt the warm comfort wash over him, and in his gut, he knew she would be alright.

"I was wrong earlier...I can promise that it won't be for forever," Severus said as he kissed her, and their kiss held the promise of seeing each other again.
Severus walked slowly back to his rooms. He wasn't ready to face the silence yet, so he chose not to Apparate back. He thought of their evening together. He hoped it wouldn't be their last. Besides being a brilliant, beautiful, kind person, she was an amazing lover. It was like she was made especially for him, and he always felt like he couldn't get enough of her. She had playfully lured him to bathe with her, and it had been the remedy for their sadness. He thought of it while it was fresh in his mind—playing over the details as he walked. She had undressed herself, and as he started to do the same, she had stopped him. She had finally figured out how to work an ascot, and adeptly rid him of his, along with the rest of his clothes. He offered her his hand to step into the tub. She'd moved forward, expecting him to sit behind her like he had their first bath together, but this time, he sat in front of her, facing her, and pulled her legs over his and around his waist. He kissed her thoroughly, then pulled away and grabbed her soap. She smiled when he started on her shoulders, washing her. He reached his arms around her back, lathering it up with his hands. He washed the front of her next, and he could tell she enjoyed it as much as he did. When he finished with her legs and feet, he started moving back up to her middle. She took the soap from him, moving closer to him.
"My turn," she said, beginning to wash him in the same manner.

"I guess it depends on how you look at it," Severus said. "It could be considered my turn."
She smiled at that, making it to his front with the soap. She lathered up his chest, then the line of hair on his belly. He groaned as she washed his hardness with both of her hands. The feeling was exquisite, and he couldn't take much more of it, finally taking the soap from her.
"I believe that is clean enough," he said as he reached out and grabbed her hips, pulling her towards him. He slid his fingers in her. She was hot and slick, and he moved them in and out of her until she pleaded for him. He pulled her onto him, grabbing her hips to move her slowly on him, and they both moaned their pleasure, each enjoying the intimacy of being face to face. He could no longer withstand the constraints of their position and moved on top of her, pushing her to her end of the tub and lifting her hips up to enable himself to drive into her full bore. He felt himself getting closer to his climax, and he knew that he wouldn't last long enough this way to bring her to her orgasm, so he rolled them over so that she straddled him. He saw her knowing expression as she began moving on him, taking long, slow strokes. Her expression changed and her eyes closed, and she began rocking back and forth, grinding herself on him, and he knew she was close. He could feel her tighten and she whimpered with the struggle to keep her pace as her climax approached. Her eyes opened, and she met his as she pushed through her orgasm, gasping as she shuddered, and he could feel her pulsing on him. He sat up, then wrapped his arms around her, lifting her up and down on himself. She

cried out as he felt her aftershocks hit her, and he burst into her, crying out hoarsely as his own climax hit hard. When they recovered from their passion, both of them breathing heavily, they suddenly started laughing. The sorrow of the day had washed away, and they were left with joy. Joy for each other, regardless of what the future might hold.
Severus made it back to his rooms, and when he entered, he could still smell her soap. He turned on the record player, listening to their song. He felt their link, the breathtaking strength of it, and his heart felt more contented than he could have imagined, especially knowing what was coming quickly for all of them.
