Severus and Sirana spent the rest of the night laying together in their bed, talking softly, holding each other. Severus worked on Sirana's bruises, and she looked almost
new, except for the tiredness in her eyes. Severus knew it was time to talk with Albus Dumbledore again. As the Headmaster of Hogwarts, he would have access to options that Severus would not. Albus always seemed to be a few moves ahead of the game, and perhaps he could offer a path that was not outside of the playing field. This time, he would bring Sirana with him.
They arranged the time for their meeting when the students would be in their beds. Severus and Sirana arrived to find Albus already in his nightrobes and bedcap. He greeted them warmly, and Albus took Sirana's hand in his, kissing it, then lingered to hold it for another moment, looking up at Severus with an approving smile. Severus had the unsettling feeling he was bringing home his fiancé to meet the parents, and he was relieved that Professor McGonagall was not present as well.
"Sit, please. Let me pour you some drinks," Dumbledore said. "I've been saving a bottle of wine for a special occasion."

Severus had told Sirana very little about Albus Dumbledore. He thought that it would be better to meet in person before having any impression already made. From the smile on her face, he thought she was quite taken with him already.
Once they had their drinks in hand and were seated comfortably, Albus said, "I've received word from your grandfather, Professor Cadogen. He wants you to know how happy and relieved he is to find that you are well, and to let you know that he has settled nicely in the States with your parents."
Sirana's goblet of wine hit the floor. She felt fortunate that it was a metal goblet, but she jumped up, apologizing for making such a mess. Dumbledore assured her calmly that it was alright, using his wand to remove any trace of wine on the floor. He insisted on pouring her another drink.
When they had all resettled into their chairs, he continued, "Perhaps I should have started off a little slower, but I find that it is often better to get right to the meat of the matter."
Sirana was shaking a little as she drank her wine, "You're fine, Headmaster. It's my fault for being so clumsy. I have so many questions about my grandfather and about what happened."
Dumbledore answered kindly, "First, I would like for you to call me Albus while we are outside of our school duties, and I would be happy to clear up your questions—that is, if I know the answers. There are some events that have transpired that have not yet come to light."
