After that lesson I gathered my things and went to the library. I nervously opened the door and Miss McFall was on duty in there and she smiled at me when I walked in. I sat down on the table by myself and plugged my headphones in. I sat and looked at the table, blocking out what anyone else was saying around me. Someone took my headphones out and I turned around. It was Justin, I smiled and he sat down beside me.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"This," I laughed, placing my hands on the table.
"What's up?" He then asked, looking suspiciously at me.
"Nothing," I lied.
"You're lying," He smirked.
"I've just got a headache, that's all," I smiled.
"Sinead," Someone behind me shouted. "Get to my classroom now please," It was Miss Hutchinson, I should have guessed.
"I'll catch you later," I said, picking my bag up and walking towards the door. Mum walked three spaces in front of me and I tried to hurry up and catch her.
"What do you want?" I asked while following her up the stairs, she didn't reply and that made me nervous. She showed me through the door, and walked to her desk for a second.
"Take a seat and wait there," She instructed, pointing to the chair in the middle of the classroom. I sloched down and waited. Mum left the room again and I quickly stood up and looked out of the window into corridor. She was heading down the stairs. I ran over to her desk and looked at what papers were lying around. Nothing I reconised was there and I started pulling the draws open. At the bottom of the draws was a brown file with the word 'Sinead' on it. Even if I couldn't read I was glad I reconised my own name. I grabbed tne file and shut the door, placing the file into my bag and sitting back down. Just in the nick of time, Mum burst through the door followed by a confused looking Bonnie."Stand up, the both of you," She angrily said, walking over to behind her desk and placing her hands on it. Bonnie was standing nervously with her bag in front of her with her coat hanging over the top.
"Do you want to explain this?" Miss hissed, holding up both exam papers from this morning. I looked over to Bonnie and she hadn't moved a muscle. "Well?"
"It's Bonnie's work," I bravley said and that made Bonnie turn around, opened mouthed.
"She's lying, Sinead did the work," Bonnie began and Miss looked at me. "You don't need to lie for me Sinead,"
"Something tells me you're lying," Miss insisted, walking towards Bonnie.
"I'm not," Bonnie frowned. I didn't want to say anything because of my secret, it was embarrassing and shaming but I didn't want want Bonnie getting into trouble for something she didn't do.
"The only way I can see through this is by you both resitting this test," Miss moaned.
"Can we go?" I asked.
"Bonnie can, you're not," She told us, my heart was beatting fast. She knew and I knew she knew. There was an awkward silence in the room, after Bonnie closed the door the only noise was the ticking of the clock.
"Some of the staff are going out for a meal tonight," She began, I cut her off before she had even finished her sentence.
"What time are you going and what time will you be back?" I suddenly asked.
"Both of the taxi's are booked at 6, I think the return one will be around 11," She scouled. "Will you be alright on your own?"
"Sure, just leave some food out in the fridge," I suggested. She was looking at me like I was planning something when I really wasn't, something was strongly telling me she trusted nothing about me.
