I didn't know how this day would go when I woke up the morning of 23rd January. Callum was still asleep and the Doctors advice was to keep him warm and let him sleep for as long as possible. I walked down the stairs, I flet groggy and hungover eventhough I hadn't drank in ages. Mum and Grandma were watching the morning news, Mum was dressed nicely since it was the first day back after the fire. The building hadn't been rebuild in the five days since it happened, the area affected had been closed off for health reasons and the canteen had been moved to some where else.

"Good morning," Grandma smiled, pulling me in and kissing my forehead.

"Morning," I replied.

"Are you two going to be alright today?" Mum asked.

"We'll be perfectly fine, I looked after her for 15 years remember," Grandma immedietly replied. Mum walked out the room and placed her cup on the surface.

"I was thinking of taking Callum for a walk to go and see Lorna at lunch time?" Grandma asked.

"I think I might stay here," I whispered.

"Are you feeling a bit under the weather?" Mum asked. 'Under the weather' I didn't get it but agreed anyway since they seem to know what they were talking about.

"I've got to go, need to be in early today," Mum sighed, picking up her bag and coat from the coat peggs and left the house.

Grandma went in the bath upstairs, she stayed in Mum's bed last night and Mum stayed on the sofa. I offered my bed but nobody would take the offer. I opened my wardrobe and put on my leggings and a dark red jumper. Callum was lying awake and I went downstairs and got the formula milk out of the fridge and warmed it under the hot water tap. This was the first time I fed him and I was still pretty un easy on picking him up. I opened up the rocker and carefully picked Callum up and layed him in it, strapping him up. I placed the bottle in his mouth, Mum had told me to make sure the end was always full of milk because this stopped him getting wind. I patted his back very carefully since I was scared I hurt him.

"Bathroom's free," Grandma shouted through into the bedroom. I put Callum back into the cot and went into the bathroom. I used the toilet and washed my face and brushed my teeth, my hair was already in a neat pony tail.

"I'm going for  a walk around town, with Callum if that's okay? Then we're meeting your mother for lunch," Grandma explained, running her long boney finger down Callums sofa cheek.

"That's alright," I said, sitting on my desk.

"Do you want to come?" She asked.

"No thanks, just need some alone time," I smiled, switching the tv on and typing a random number from the remote in and sitting down in front of it.

"Just give me a call if you need something, yeah?" She smiled, taking Callum downstairs. A few moments later I heard the door open and close quickly. There was no noise at all accept for the ticking of the clock which was out in the hall way. I felt like I was dehydrating and I needed a drink fast, I gulped down a few sips of water from the taps in the bathroom and I lay down on my bed. I shut my eyes and dozed off, peacfully in the safe and warm house.
