Ignoring the rapid knocking she walked to her dresser and picked out the first pyjamas her hand reached. They turned out to be the new navy blue silky pyjamas Jupiter had bought for her, to try and goad her into wearing a different colour other than black. He hadn't had any luck so far, and she knew wearing them was admitting defeat, but at the moment she couldn't care less. She  picked them up them and walked into the bathroom. She turned on the tap in the sink and splashed her face and straightened up to look at herself in the ornate wrought-iron mirror that had sprouted in her bathroom that day. What's wrong with you Mog? She thought to herself. It wasn't as if she thought of herself as pretty or to have good looks anyway. What with her curly, misshapen mop of black hair and pasty white skin she herself thought she was quite unattractive. She got changed into the new pyjamas, and deciding they weren't too bad she walked back into her bedroom and sat in her octopus chair, to start her nightly routine of practicing the Wrenched Arts. Before she could start singing to her Wunder, she heard voices outside the door.

"Jack? Why are you trying to break down this door? This is Mog's room you know" Martha was walking along the hallway, delivering fresh towels to the inhabitants of the hotel.

"Oh hi Martha, yes I know it's Mog's room" Said Jack, his voice full of embarrassment. "It's just that I -er... said something stupid and she won't let me in" he finished lamely. Morrigan could imagine the pink flush that was probably creeping to his cheeks right now and has the sudden mean urge to laugh. She pushed it away.

"Oh ok, I'll talk to her. Mog, may I please come in?"

"It's Morrigan. And fine". The door was pushed open and Martha came through it with her silver cart which was equipped with towels and a chocolate ice cream. She handed the ice cream to Morrigan and walked to the bathroom and put the fresh towel on the rack.
"Thanks" mumbled Morrigan, placing the ice cream on the table next to her.
"You left before dessert, so I brought it to you" said Martha kindly. She sat down on the bed opposite Morrigan. "Now what's wrong?"
"Nothing" replied Morrigan moodily.
"Moooog"
"Fine. Jack used his nosy knack on me and he saw a rose and said it means beauty or love" she said talking fast so she didn't stop. "Then he said it's obviously not the first one" she said, crossing her arms and legs and the octopus wrapped its tentacles around her.

"Oh is that all?" Said Martha and Morrigan nodded. "Oh Mog, he's just teasing like always, besides," said Martha now dropping her voice causing Morrigan to lean closer "He cares about you, Mog".

"What? Of course he doesn't" yelped Morrigan. She had gotten to her feet alarmingly fast due to her state of surprise, knocking all of the tentacles away.
"If you say so..." said Martha standing up and sighing "Well goodnight Mog, and are you going to let him in soon?"
"Maybe" replied Morrigan. Martha chuckled, bade her goodnight and took her cart of towels out the door. The knocking had stoped. She stood up and gave a great sigh like she was trying to blow the Hotel down and walked to the door. Her hand was on the doorknob when she heard Jack start to talk.
"Mog, please. It was just a stupid joke. I didn't think it would actually upset you. And... well- er I actually think you are quite... pretty". He spoke the last word in a whisper and she could imagine him getting extremely embarrassed. She smiled to herself and pulled the door open. Jack jumped away and looked at her.
