Sorry for the long wait x
She woke up to daylight, in an unfamiliar room, although her room changed around quite often, it would never change to look like this. Then, she realised where she was- Jack's room. All of the past days events came flooding back to her, she was sick, and she had passed out when she had gone to see Jack. As she started to sit up something shot out of her hand, and she was thrown down against the bed again by the impact of Jack's embrace.
"Morrigan, you're awake!" She heard his muffled voice say, his head must've been facing the pillow, she thought.
"Jack?" She said after a few seconds
"Yes? What? Do you need something?"
"No, you're crushing me"
"Oh right, sorry" He extracted himself from her and Morrigan properly saw his face for the first time that morning. His eyes were red, and his face tear-stained, with bulging, purple bags under his eyes.
"You look horrific!"
"Thanks"
"No really, did you sleep at all last night?" Morrigan asked incredulously.
"Mog, you've been out of it for two days" he said, "did you not realise?"
"TWO DAYS?!" Exclaimed Morrigan
"I guess not" Jack sighed, briefly closing his eyes. Morrigan shifted over to her right and pulled Jack up into the bed next to her.
"How are you feeling, Mog?" He muttered, leaning his head on her shoulder.
"Me? I'm fine. Must've picked something up from the Christmas Ball, I guess. You look a little worse for wear, though" Morrigan said. Jack chuckled half-heartedly
"Yeah, Jove figured out that one of the guests, a llamawun, I think, had some sort of illness that affects humans more than animals, or Wunimals, I should say" he added sleepily.
"So," said Morrigan" "are you telling me you haven't slept in two days?!" Said Morrigan, changing the subject,
"Oh don't be so dramatic, Mog" Jack said, rolling his eyes. "I'm fine, I slept here and there-" but Morrigan cut him off,
"Right, you sleep, I'm going to see Jupiter, I'm sick of being sick" Morrigan said, starting to get up, and pushing Jack onto his pillow. Jack tried to protest but Morrigan point-blank refused and strode out the door.
She walked all the way to Jupiter's office, feeling completely normal, not nauseous at all. She knocked twice and steeped in, she knew he wasn't away because she had asked Jack before-hand, not wanting to be disappointed. He looked up and his face broke into an ear-to-ear grin. He exclaimed "Mog!" And strode over to her with a few strides and swept her into a bone-crushing hug. They broke apart and Jupiter sat down on a red armchair next to the fireplace while Morrigan made them tea.
After she had sat down and handed Jupiter his mug, Jupiter asked her how she was feeling, which she was becoming immensely sick of, she was feeling fine now.
"Yeah I'm great"
"And do you know how you got si-"
"Yep, Jack told me, llamawun, party, spread the sickness blah blah blah, so what's wrong with Jack? He looks, well, horrendous" Morrigan said, hurriedly. Jupiter registered wha she had said and replied, "Well Morrigan, you've been asleep for two days, and well... when Jack found out, he didn't leave your side the whole time. He's been very upset." Morrigan furrowed her brow,
"But why?" She asked.
"Because he cares about you Mog, you fainted in front of him, and have been passed out for two days. It was a little scary for everyone, Mog."
"Oh" Morrigan realised she had been quite insensitive towards Jack. They talked for a little while longer and Morrigan decided to go check on Jack. Before she left Jupiter's study, she made Jack a cup of his favourite tea, camomile, to calm him down and started to walk to his room.
She quietly opened the door and peeked inside, Jack was still sleeping in the awkward half-sitting half-lying down position she had left him in. She smiled despite herself, he was quite cute. Morrigan decided to wake him, he would hurt his neck otherwise. She sat next to him and placed the tea cup on the wooden bedside table. She brushed his hair out of his face, gently stroking his forehead, he didn't have a temperature or anything, he was just exhausted. "Jack?" She said quietly. His eyes flickered open "Hmm?" He mumbled looking up at Mog, smiling at her hand stroking his forehead. "I made you tea" she said, picking up the off-white ceramic tea cup and carefully giving it to him. He sat up a little and took the cup from her.
"Thanks, Mog"
"No, thank you Jack"
"I didn't do anything" he said, obviously confused.
"Yes you did, Jupiter told me how well you looked after me these last few days, and I wanted to say thank you." She finished, her cheeks becoming slightly a light pink. Jack blinked a few times, "Oh, that's, that's fine Mog! You probably would have done the same for me anyway" Said said Jack, brushing of the subject with a wave of his hand. Morrigan smiled, and when Jack passed his teacup to Morrigan and started to fall asleep, she grabbed a book from his bookshelf and sat in the armchair beside the bed. Now the roles were reversed, thought Morrigan, smiling slightly.
Jack awoke a few hours later, but did not move straight away, he looked at Morrigan, curled up in his red velvet armchair beside his bed, reading one of his books. He watched her while she read for a while, watching her smile at parts she liked, scrunching her nose up at parts she didn't. The thought came to Jack very abruptly. He liked Morrigan. He needed to tell her soon.
Morrigan felt eyes watching her, so she looked at the bed and saw that Jack was awake, starring at her. She blushed slightly, and smiled, "What?" She asked him.
"Nothing" he said, smirking.
"If you say so."
