hi guys, I'm BACKK. I've been really busy with school, and I'm also a dancer and spend around 40 hours a week dancing (lol), but I'm back, finally. I don't have many parts of this series left, and I am considering re-writing it one day soon. I write mostly at night, and I just think I can do better then what I've got at the moment, and I also started this midway through last year and I was very inexperienced as a writer haha.
Anyway, here we goooo....****
A few hours later, Morrigan was dressed and ready. Dame Chanda had helped her choose a new dress, black this time, that she finished just above her knees. It had long puffy sleeves and quite a low neck-line, but she was turning 16 after all, Dame Chanda had said. She accessorised with her new necklace from Jack, and some simple gold stud earrings, and very light makeup. Her hair was straightened and let loose. Morrigan thought she looked ok, if not decent. Her unit was coming around nine, and it was 8:53, so she decided to head up to the rooftop where she was meeting them, and Jack. Morrigan had set up a corner with blankets and fairy lights for everyone to hang out in, because there were so many other people everywhere. After a few hours of gossiping, partying, dancing, and Hawthorne setting his shirt on fire (don't ask), it time to jump of the balustrade with her brolly. Morrigan grasped Jack's spare hand nervously, she had never like heights. They looked at each other for a few moments.
"Step Boldly" they said in unison. They flew down together, shrieking with a combined mix of fear and laughter. They both stumbled a little on the landing and tottered around laughing. Morrigan looked around and saw her unit a little away, having just landed and talking. She looked up at Jack, closing her umbrella, "Want to got to my room, just before they all come?" She asked.
"Please" Jack said.
They headed up the stairs, (both apparently not noticing their intertwined hands, somehow) laughing and joking around. They entered her room and Jack took of his eyepatch and placed it on a table in the corner, along with both of their brollies.
"So" he said, "have you opened your locket yet?" He asked.
"What?" Said Morrigan looking down at her necklace. She noticed it had a tiny hinge and she tried and failed to open it. Jack walked over and brushed her hands away, and opened it himself. Succeeding, he tilted it up towards Morrigan's face. She gasped in surprise. Inside was a picture of her and Jack at the Christmas ball, dancing. Like really dancing, the picture was moving! While Morrigan was processing this, the picture distorted and changed, this time to a scene, for the want of a better word, of her and Jack jumping off of the balustrade, a few minutes earlier. Now she was very confused. She took the locket from Jack's hands and frowned.
She looked up at Jack and furrowed her brow in confusion. "But... how?" She asked.
"My friend Tommy, you know, the one who's mum is a witch? I convinced him to help me do it. He's been teasing me for weeks, I might add. But I don't mind." He added with a smile. Morrigan looked back down to the necklace, which was now showing a picture, or video, of Jack and Morrigan opening their Christmas presents. After a stretch of silence Jack broke it by saying,
"Mog?"
"Hmm?" She responded, looking up at him and dropped the necklace. He sighed and looked into her eyes. The were very beautiful, which he knew, but he had never been quite this close to her before. Her eyes were a deep black abyss, reflecting the dazzling light of the fireplace, as if there was Wunder living in her eyes.
This wasn't helping.
He shook his head as if to remove the thought from his brain. "Right... I, I wanted to say that..." Morrigan tilted her head inquisitively.
"Go on" She said. Jack sighed again.
"You don't have to say anything at all, if you don't, well... I guess, feel the same way," He rushed on "but I just wanted to let you know that I sort of like you. As more then friends, I mean."
She finally built up the courage to do what she had been hesitant to do forever. She kissed him.
They both leant in slightly, they were already very close to each other, Morrigan's hands twisted themselves into Jacks's hair whilst their lips connected, while Jack's arms slid around her waist. Morrigan felt the happiest she had in weeks, maybe even years. After a few long seconds, or possibly many hours, they broke apart, starring at each other with stupid grins on their faces. Morrigan regained her thoughts first.
"I like you too, Jack, and I have for a while, I think."
After a pause, Jack said "So how long has that taken you then Mog, about 4 years" still smiling wide. Morrigan just laughed and they stood there for a while, just looking into each others faces, Jack probably seeing the four million happy feelings rushing through Morrigan like the rolling waves of the ocean.
Morrigan thought that maybe, just possibly, this could be the start of something new.
