Short lil chapter for u all xx

The next few days were crammed with preparation for Morrigan's birthday party, and Eventide, which Frank hadn't been able to pester Morrigan about because she had been unconscious. Thank God, she thought. She had chosen black for the theme, and Frank had insisted in black and gold, to add some class for goodness sake. Morrigan had specifically only told him to invite unit 919, and the rest of the hotel workers, so naturally he had invited three whole pages of guests.

"Morrigannn" he said, exasperated, "I invited your friends for your half of the party" he explained, "and more guests for the Eventide part of the part, technically I still did what you asked."

Morrigan had stormed up to the smoking parlour where Kedgeree had said Frank was to interrogate him on the guest list, because Jupiter had informed her on the extensive list. Morrigan grudgingly agreed when Frank told her she could set up her own corner of the rooftop, (where the party was to be held) for her friends. She strode back to her room and opened the door. The entirety of unit 919 (and Jack) was going to be sleeping over in Morrigan's room after the party, Jack and Morrigan had planned to lift 9 extra mattresses from spare rooms into hers for the sleepover, but obviously the room had plans of its own.

The length and width of the room had expanded magnificently, and Morrigan's bed was completely gone. Mattresses were scattered around the floor, which was complete with multi-coloured fluffy rugs. There were cosy looking blankets everywhere and countless plush pillows on every bed. There was even a popcorn machine, for goodness sake! Oh well, at least they didn't have to haul nine beds up the stairs anymore, Morrigan just hoped her room would go back to normal eventually.

The next day Morrigan woke up bright and early. She was 16 tomorrow! As she as getting out of bed, someone knocked rapidly on the door. "It's open!" She called. The door opened and in came Jack, grinning.

"Morning, Mog"

"Morning Jack, one day before I'm the same age as you!" Jack rolled his eyes.

"I'm still way older Mog, my birthdays in a few months then I'll be seventeen" Morrigan playfully hit his arm.

"Anyway" said Jack, regaining his composure, "I have an early Birthday present for you, I thought you could wear it tonight" he said, handing her a rectangular black box, slightly blushing. She gently took it from him, opened it and gasped. Inside was a beautiful golden necklace, with a heart featuring some intricate designs on it. "Oh Jack!" She said jumping into his arms, tears welling in her eyes, "you are so sweet! Thank you so much"

"No worries Mog, you deserve it" this caused Morrigan to cry harder, no one had ever done something like this for her before. They hugged for a minute or so and then broke apart, Morrigan wiping her eyes. They talked for a little while longer, about the party and Morrigan's friends, Jack and Morrigan agreed that Hawthorne and Cadence definitely liked each other, and came up with ridiculous pranks in order to embarrass them.

After a while, Jack stood up to leave, Morrigan following him to the door. Before he stepped out, she grabbed his hand and he turned around to face her.

"Thank you Jack, I mean it" she said softly, she tilted her head up and kissed him on the cheek, she had grown since last time, she didn't need to stand on her tip-toes anymore. Jack grinned at her and set of back to his room. Morrigan smiled despite herself and shut the door.
