"Mog I-"
"It's alright Jack" she cut across him "Now hurry up and come in." He tentatively smiled at her and walked past Morrigan who was holding open the door for him and sat on the bed, eyeing the ice cream lovingly. She picked it up and thrust it in his hands. He looked up at her.
"Go on, I don't want it"
"Thanks, Mog." He tucked in and Morrigan walked towards the wall were the four candle holders were, and the fireplace, all extinguished. She started to hum. She barely needed to sing anymore, Wunder was waiting for her. In seconds she could feel a tingling at her fingertips. She closed her eyes and imagined the fire in her chest and grabbing it with her hand. She opened her eyes and lit all the candles with exact precision. The fireplace she could have more fun with. She walked over to it and traced her finger over the half-blackened wood and then stepped back. Fire started to form, small and inquisitive at first, and then, gaining confidence it grew into the size of a normal fire. Jack uttered a small "Woah!" and Morrigan laughed. She started to design a small rose on the wall of her bedroom using the art of Weaving."Ok Mog, I just wanted to say I'm sorry... again and it was truly just for a laugh, ok?
Morrigan didn't answer, she was too busy making her flower."Mog are you even listening?"
"No" she replied truthfully.
"Mog!"
"Fine!" She stomped over to Jack and sat down with too much force, causing Jack to slop ice cream all down his front. He stood up quickly trying not to get ice cream all over Morrigan's bed, only resulting in tipping the left-over ice cream upside-down onto the carpet. Jack muttered a relentless stream of curse words.
"Jack!" Said Morrigan, giggling. She stood up and ran to the bathroom and grabbed her fresh towel. Jack was trying to clean the carpet with the ice cream-free part of his shirt. She pushed him away from the mess and started to clean it up with her towel.
"Mog, let me get my towel" said Jack, standing helplessly.
"No." Said Morrigan simply. Jack admired defeat and sat on the bed. When Morrigan was finished cleaning the carpet she walked over to Jack and started cleaning his shirt. He just stared at her wordlessly, seeming to fight his urge to run and get his own towel, he stayed still and allowed Morrigan to clean him up.
"Alright, that's the best I can do" said Morrigan growing the towel over the end of her bed, who's bed sheets had turned navy blue, obviously noting the change of Morrigan's fashion sense.
"Thanks Mog" he said, staring into her eyes fondly "And I'm-""If you say sorry I'm going to hit you with this pillow"
"Sorry"
Morrigan hit him hard in the face with her navy-blue pillow and he fell down on the bed laughing. Morrigan giggled and Jack dragged her down next to him. Morrigan sighed.
"Jack, why can't you go to the Wunderous Society?" Said Morrigan, staring at the ceiling. Jack made a face.
"Cause I don't want to end up like Uncle Jove." It was Morrigan's turn to make a face.
"What?"
"No not like that" he chuckled, "I mean like, always busy. He barely has time to talk to us, and he even gets called away at Christmas!" He said incredulously.
"Hmm... true" said Morrigan "but he's pretty great."
"Yeah, he is" Jack replied. "Why do you ask anyway?"
"Oh!" Morrigan's voice seemed to raise several octaves. "Erm... well... it's just because I- sometimes, well..." Morrigan stuttered, turning steadily more red by the second. She sat up and looked around desperately, as if tying to find an escape route.
"Miss me?" Said Jack now looking at her with his eyebrows raised, sitting up as well.
"No! Well... yes" she said quietly seething with embarrassment.
"It's alright, Mog, I hate being away from here" he said, looking around at her room, seemingly deep in thought. "And Uncle Jove, and you." These words made Morrigan blush madly and smile stupidly.
"All right, I'm off to bed" said Jack standing up. He started walking towards the door and Morrigan followed him. He opened the door and turned around and looked at her.
"Good, your clouds white again" remarked Jack. Morrigan playfully shoved his arm.
"Mog, I honestly didn't mean to make you upset, I was truely joking."
"I knooowww Jack, it's truely fine." She mocked him. It was Jacks turn to shove Morrigan's arm. He held out his hand to her, "Friends?" He asked. When Morrigan looked upon the moment later in her life, and she didn't know what made her do it. She put her hands on his shoulders, rose onto her tip-toes, and kissed him on the cheek. She pulled away and saw movement to the right of Jack's head. She spotted Martha, trying (and failing) to be unnoticeable and to pretend she wasn't watching.
"Martha!"
"Wha-" said Jack
"Hello!" Said Martha, positively beaming. Morrigan hastily took her hands off of Jack's shoulders.
"What are you too up to? Martha said grinning at the both of them.
"Nothing!" Said Jack very loudly and hastily turning around to face Martha with an unconvincing look of innocence hitched onto his face.
"Ohhh... does nothing involve kissing people on the cheek?" Said Martha, looking past Jack at Morrigan and seeming to stifle a laugh.
"Martha..." Morrigan began threateningly.
"Don't worry, who am I going to tell, Fen?"
"NO!" Said Morrigan and Jack together.
"Alright, alright I'm joking. Goodnight you two!" Martha walked away down the stairs
"'Night" they both said. Jack looked back at Mog and grinned sheepishly.
"Well... night then Mog"
"Night Jack" She watched him walk away for a few moments, whistling, his hands in his pockets and then she closed the door, smiled to herself and flopped down happily in bed, and fell asleep.
