I stood there behind a tree in shock to what I was witnessing. There stood my sister with a bloodied knife in her hand standing over a body, and I had a pretty good idea who it was, our friend Kaleb. I could tell because he was the only on I knew who had yellow hair with red tips, and it was in fact his house. The lights that were on her made it easy for me to see exactly what she was doing, and she wasn't even moving, she just stood there over the body. I guess her phone rang because she was now scrambling, looking for something her pocket, she took the call and when it was over, she put it back in her pocket and then just stood there as if waiting for someone. I was about to go inside and confront her, but as I was about to, a black van without windows pulled up in front of the premises.

The door to the van flow open, and out can three men, one was holding cleaning supplies, the other was holding a body bag, and the last came out with just a cigarette in his hands. "Let's go boys, we have a lot of work to do", the man with the cigarette said making a puff of smoke, then the three of them walked towards the house on a mission. Through the same window which I saw my sister through, I saw two of the men cleaning, while the one who was smoking pulled my sister aside, and started talking to her and pulling her towards him, I obviously couldn't tell what they were saying, but after their conversation, he was smiling.

Not long after, they came back outside, and was walking towards the van, except this time there was a body inside the body bag. To hide from the men to make sure I wasn't seen, I had to go behind the tree some more, but fuck my life when I made a mistake and mashed a tree branch, and I cursed myself internally. I was praying that they would just ignore the sound they had heard, but with my luck, that was highly unlikely. It was the man with the cigarette who was coming to see where the noise had come from, and if not to make matters worse, I was trying really hard not to cough form the smoke that was coming from his cigarette.

As he inched nearer, my pleads for him not to come closer, came out quicker and quicker, until I was sure the words weren't making sense anymore. Suddenly, a car began to approach the house as its headlights shone in our direction. "Forget it,", the man with the cigarette said, "they're coming back, everybody in the van", he commanded and with that, everyone one of them including my sister got in the van and sped off as the car came closer. I also left, hoping not to be seen by the owners, even if they already knew me well enough, I just didn't want to be seen by them in case they asked too many questions I could not answer.

After getting home, I looked around for my sister, ducking in also trying not to wake our parents because this was not the time they would like me to come home. Walking up the stairs to my room, I was cautious not to wake anyone, and as I was about the climb the last stair at the top a voice whispered, "coming home late are we?", I could tell from the tone that it was my sister, she stood there cross armed smirking at me I could tell because the door to her room was ajar and the light from inside hit her face at a good enough angle that I could see the expressions on her face. "Maddie, fuck, you scared the crap out of me!", I whisper-shouted as I clasped my chest. She left out an audible scoff and turned her head towards the path to our parents room, "Mom and dad would not be happy about the times you come home these days Jess", she said as she looked back in my direction, and out of all the things I could have said, my response was, "yeah, well when did you get home?", I scolded myself in my head realizing what I had just said, internally swearing at myself, because technically she would have gotten off work two hours ago, now I was standing there, hoping she would not have questioned what I had just said too much.

"What are you talking about?", she responded to me with a puzzled look on her face, " I was home the entire time, why did you see me somewhere before you came home?", and she started inching closer towards me, " no , no I just, I just, it as just a defense response I didn't see you", I all but stuttered to her, she looked at me with squinted eyes and then moved away from my face, "okay", she said, I nearly let out a huge sigh of relief when I held myself back. "Well it's already late, and we have school in the morning, so I'm gonna go to bed, and salvage what's left of the time I have left to sleep before I have to get up in the morning for school", I said before brushing past Maddie, hitting her shoulder just a little

I just dropped on my bed and laid there, no sound, completely quiet, staring at my celling, and then I sat up, my hands found its way to my face, and I started to wipe frantically, "what am I going to do?", I said out loud in frustration. I couldn't call the police and tell them I saw, my sister murder someone, without evidence, and I don't want to outright ask her about tonight, so what was I going to do, I said in my head. Thoughts of what to do flooded my mind the entire night making sure I had not gotten even a wink of sleep.

Not long after, light started to peek through my window signaling the start of the morning. I got up in a daze and went to open my window's curtain. I shied away from looking directly outside, because the strength at which the light shone was getting stronger by the second. The orange sky did look beautiful at that very moment, but I had other things to worry about now as the thoughts of last night just keep flooding back to me from the back of my mind.

My morning routines were not that different from any other, I continued to get dressed, although taking longer than usual. "Jess, breakfast", my sister spoke though the door, knocking twice for reassurance. I went to open the door thinking my sister was gone, but as I opened the door her eyes met mine, it was like staring into a mirror, but something was different, she was looking at me but not looking AT me. I searched her eyes for over two minutes not even blinking, but she broke contact first, "What's up with you searching for something inside here", she asks as she pointed to here chocolate brown eyes. I was thinking of what to say, but I could not get anything out. I mean she was, is my sister, the twin I grew up with, did everything together with, from sharing secrets, to making trouble together since we were able to walk, but why can't she tell me or at least give me something to work with, I was on a thin thread, and I did not know what to do.

"Mom, we're leaving!", I shouted to mum, who was probably still asleep from working late shifts last night. "Jess let's go!", my sister shouted, as she stated the ignition, we each had our own car, but sometimes we just rode together for convenience and we felt like it. The ride to school was not long with my thoughts consuming me. Our friends from class came up to the car as my sister placed it in park. "Hey Jess", my friend Tiggs said as she slung her arms across my shoulders. I searched behind our other friends for Kaleb, but he wasn't there. "Hey Tiggs, did you see Kaleb yet?", I questioned her "nope", she responded popping the p which only resulted in me getting spit across my face, and she laughed wiping it off mimicking my action to do so.
