It was the night before D-Day, I was running though the series of events that I would execute one more time. I opened my laptop opened my search engine and started typing, preparing for what I had to do. Address of Frisky's Northern branch, check, blueprint that I found after hours of looking, check, I then went through my bag and made sure I had everything ready, just having to wait for the time to come. I was antsy, but I had to get rest if I wanted to get up early the next day even though it wasn't until three in the afternoon the next day I had to leave for, it was the only thing on my mind. The entire night I rustled in my bed, contorting in weird positions till three in the morning, I knew I couldn't sleep, so I went downstairs, made myself a snack, and turned on the TV.

"Baby, you need to get up", a soft voice woke me rubbing my back, I hesitantly got up squinting my eyes, "mom, you're home?", I said still sleepy, "yup", she replied, still rubbing my back until I was upright. "Well this is nice, seeing you here not in scrubs", I joked, "uh-huh, why'd you sleep downstairs?", my mum asked me a little confused, "wasn't getting any sleep so I came downstairs", I said rubbing the sleepiness away, "well get up, time for breakfast", I got up, and made my way to the island where all the food was, shoving a piece of bread in my mouth my mother brought a glass of orange juice for herself, "so I was thinking girls, we could have a family dinner tonight", my mum said smiling at us, I think she was excited because we rarely got to do anything together, because her job was demanding, and she hardly got to see us or dad, "I'm busy tonight", my sister and I said in unison, then we looked at each other.

"So, both of you are busy. At the same time?", "we have a project to do that's due soon and we haven't even gotten halfway through yet", I lied, "yeah mom", my sister reassured, playing along with my lie. My mum did look disappointed, so I said we could do it tomorrow, and that we would stay up all night at a friend's house, so that she could get some rest when we weren't here to disturb her, she did like the idea, but only after being a little unsure and skeptical, but she did agree. After breakfast, me and my sister went back to our rooms to get ready for school, "where are you really going later?", she said holing me back from opening the door to my room, "nothing you need to concern yourself with", I told her calmly trying not to get mad, because I still felt like she had no right to interfere with Matty's and my relationship, I looked at her hand on mine and then at her, and she got the message I was trying to send, she let me go then I went in my room, and locked the door.

Today, unfortunately was a school day, and to make matters worse, I had all important classes today, so I couldn't miss out, so like a trooper, I did my regular routine I did every morning to get ready for school, and headed out when I was done. School was normal like every other day, nothing out of the usual, but in my head, I was counting down the time I had to make my move. "Class dismissed" Mr. Branson said packing up his equipment, and as soon as he left I followed right after. Matty kept staring at me in class, so he probably wanted to talk to me, but not today, we would have the rest of our lives to talk, he could wait. I ran quickly out of the compound and made my way to my car, even though I could have sworn I heard Matty calling behind me but I paid no attention and just left.

Going to Frisky's Northern branch would be a long one, I turned on the radio and listened whatever came on. My phone rang twenty minutes into the drive, it was Matty, it rang a second time it was my mother, the third time it rang, it was my sister, and each time I didn't answer, I needed to focus. My mum did call again, but this time I answered, "mum yes, I saw your call, but sorry I didn't answer, I was preoccupied at the moment", "baby I just wanted you to pick up a few stuff for me before you get home, I'll text you the list", my mum's tired voice came though the end of the phone, it looks like the day we gave to her was well needed. "Alright mum, see you later, love you", I told her before I hung up, "love you too" she said before the line went dead.
