Kaylee's POV
I forced my eyes open.
The light made me feel slightly queasy before I got used to it.
"Kaylee? Oh Kaylee thank God you're awake."
Mum hugged me tightly and I draped my hand around her.
I was completely confused.
"Mum? Where am I? What happened?"
She looked at me, quit puzzled.
"You don't remember what happened?"
I shook my head, trying to think.
"You fainted at cheer practice, the nurses said I should take you to the hospital when you weren't responding to treatment."
"So I'm at the hospital?" I asked, observing the room.
I knew the answer before she nodded.
"Mum, I'm awake now, why aren't we leaving?" I asked.
She stroked my hair back.
"I'm sorry sweetie but we've got wait for the doctor to come back with his report. They did a series of tests on you and you can't just leave."
"I'm fine mum." I tried to argue but the death glare she was giving me was enough to shut me up.
I lay down back on the bed while mum just talked to me.
Sometimes I replied her but other times, I just listened to the drone of her voice.
I didn't want to tell her but my head felt like it was being torn into two.
It hurt really bad.
My phone started ringing and I looked to see it was Chelsea calling.
I looked at mum and she nodded her silent approval.
I answered the phone.
"Hey Chelsea."
"Kaylee! You're alright. Thank God. I thought something bad happened to you. Don't ever scare me like that again."
I felt guilty as I thought of what she must have been feeling.
I did faint a lot but this was the first time I'd taken this long to wake up.
"I'm sorry Chels. I promise, nothing like this would happen again."
She sniffed and I didn't know if she was ever going to answer me.
Eventually she replied.
"Okay, I forgive you but you owe me ice cream once you leave the hospital. "
I smiled even though she couldn't see me.
"Its a date. Bye Chelsea."
"Later Kaylee."
I couldn't stop the smile that played on my lips.
"Let me guess, she couldn't come to the hospital no matter how hard she wanted to." I told my mum and she nodded.
"Chelsea really wanted to. She even got to the gate then she started hyperventilating and begged to be dropped off at the gate."
I smiled sadly.
