Kaylee's POV
I knew what I wanted to paint before I even got there.
I had all my supplies packed in my bag and was patiently waiting for Kai to come.
I finished my breakfast quite quickly and watched the face of the clock.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Mum asked and I nodded.
She kissed my head and I hugged her tightly.
The doorbell rang and I smiled at my mum.
I stood up and opened the door.
Kai had the same idea I did.
He was wearing black on black and half his face had been covered with a mask.
"Good morning miss Nathan." Kai greeted and my mum nodded her head, looking at him.
I playfully rolled my eyes at her and pulled him away and out the front door.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
I couldn't help the excitement leaking in my voice.
He gave me a small smile back.
"That's going to be a surprise Kaylee. However you can guess while we head there. Come on."
We pulled out and into the highway.
Take it off by Kesha boomed from his car speakers.
I couldn't help it, I danced wildly, being careful not to shake my head too much.
"You still suck at dancing." Kai teased and I glared at him.
"You're still a jerk. My dance skills are amazing." I teased and he shook his head.
"Nope. You actually suck at dancing."
"I'm better than you."
"Puhleeze, that's not true." He said in an annoying, whiny voice.
I rolled my eyes and looked at the window.
It seemed almost like old times.
Before everything started getting complicated.
I leaned my head and closed my eyes, drowning myself in my favourite memories.
***************
"Kay I suck at dancing. " Kai whined. You would think he was five and not fifteen.
"Its easy just enjoy the music." I teased, knowing he would glare at me.
He glared at me and I laughed at him.
"Why would mum decide to host a ball? This isn't the 19th century. " he complained.
"The 19th century was awesome. Come here mr whiny pants, let me teach you."
He shot me an incredulous look.
"You know how to waltz?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes.
"You're forgetting I attend dance class every Saturday."
"That doesn't mean you actually listen. " he teased and I glared at him.
