Alekai's POV

I caught her before she hit the ground.

I was worried about her fainting, especially now that I knew she was on a time frame.

I needed to call her mum so I took her phone and opened it.

Her wallpaper was a picture of both of us.

I think we had taken the picture in ninth grade.

We were both covered in various colours and we looked like rainbows.

She was on my back doing a silly face while I was laughing at her.

It brought a choking feeling in me but I ignored it.

I called her mum and told her Kaylee had fainted again.

"The doctor said it would be a common occurrence now. Get some smelling salt and she should wake up. I'm coming now. Then maybe you'll explain why you're in my house."

Ouch.

Guess she told her mum.

I dropped the phone to look for the salts.

While I was looking however, I caught sight of her bulletin board.

She's had this since forever.

However, what made me surprised was that she hadn't taken down any of our pictures together she had put up.

Even our Christmas cards, birthday cards, valentine's day cards.

She hadn't changed anything.

I thought she would burnt every proof of my existence in her life.

I caught sight of another paper but I didn't have time to read it.

I found the first aid box and took the stinky salt and put it close to her nose.

She jerked awake.

Yeah, the smell was really that bad.

She placed her hand on her head.

"Are you okay?" I asked and she just turned to look at me, just staring, saying absolutely nothing.

"Do you want me to leave?" I asked.

I might have been kidding myself but I saw her shake her head a little.

I didn't want to bother her so I stood up and went back to the paper that had caught my attention.

It was her bucket list.

I knew when she had written it.

Well, except the last one.

Get Kai to tell me why he's been mad at me.

I kept staring at the paper and suddenly a great idea came to me.

I might have been doing this for entirely selfish reasons, but I just had to do it.

I don't know what I was planning to gain with this, but I had to try.

I stayed with her until I heard her mum come in.

Her mum rushed in and hugged her daughter.

Ms. Nathan, used to be like a second mum to me.

She was more of a mother to me than my carrier.

This moment though, when she left Kaylee and turned to me, I didn't recognize her anymore.

She was a stranger to me too.

Guess I'd really fucked a lot of things up with my attitude change.
