It was the day before they were to return home for Christmas Break, Draco and Adelaide were making their way to the Room of Requirement to do last minute touchups and spell work on the Vanishing Cabinet.

As Adelaide pranced around the corner, looking up at Draco, she saw his face turn pale and he scooped her up and practically jumped into a little alcove in the corridor. Adelaide transfigured back, now completely on his lap and whispered, "What are you doing?"

Draco hissed, "Turn back! Turn back!"

Adelaide quickly did so and Draco shoved her under his blazer, scrambling to his feet, and in good time too because Harry stormed around the corner in a suit with a large piece of parchment in one hand and his wand in the other. When he saw Draco he looked around as if expecting there to be another person with him.

"Are you lost Potter?" he spat.

Harry furrowed his brow, "I know she's here."

Draco raised his eyebrow, taking a cocky step towards Harry, he smirked, "Know who's here Potter? Your girlfriend? I'm afraid she's probably off cheating with someone else, my standards are a bit higher than yours."

Harry bared his teeth lifting his wand slightly, "You know who I'm talking about Draco, Adelaide is here."

Draco's face paled and he took a step back growling in a dangerously low voice, "How dare you speak her name."

"I can see her on the map she's right here!"

Draco scoffed, "I think I'd know if my Adelaide was in the castle Potter. Maybe you haven't picked up a Daily Prophet in a while, but she's clearly nowhere near here."

Harry took another step towards Draco, whispering angrily, "She's definitely here in the castle, I've seen her following you around everywhere." He continued to look around the corner Draco was in, the map clearly said she was right there.

Draco clenched his jaw, "Right. I've about had it up to here with you Potter. First you listen in on my conversations, then you stalk me with your little map and now you're interrogating me as if I'm hiding one of the most wanted Death Eaters in my back pocket. Is your stupid little map driven by blood magic because if so," he dug into his pocket ripping out Adelaide's necklace, "This is probably why she's showing up. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have better things to do than talk to you all night." he shoulder checked Harry, continuing down the corridor.

Luna walked around the corner wearing a shiny dress, Draco mumbled, "Hi Luna" before continuing on.

Luna responded, "Hello Draco, having a pleasant evening?"

He sarcastically grumbled, "Stellar" walking up the steps.

He unraveled his jacket and Adelaide hopped onto the floor angrily staring at Draco for shoving her in his blazer.

"Sorry about that." he grimaced.

As they continued their way up the stairs and onto the seventh floor, Adelaide was ripped upwards by her scruff and Draco by his blazer. Adelaide looked up and saw that Filch had grabbed them both and yanked them backwards, "What are you doin' up here Malfoy? I don't suppose you were invited to Slughorn's Christmas Party?"

He dragged him down the corridor and down several flights of steps, Draco struggled violently against his death grip, "Uh, yes, yes! As a matter of fact, I was. You better take your hands off her now." he growled.

Filch laughed sadistically, "Worried about your precious cat?" before dragging them into a busy room with a bunch of people dressed up, Draco thrashed hissing, "Take your hands off me you filthy squib!"
