Draco, Lucius, Perseus and Adelaide all Floo'd over to the nice restaurant in London. Adelaide brushed the dust off her shoulder, shuddering at her dress that was now covered in floo powder. Adelaide quickly dabbed a drop of Elixir to induce Euphoria on her tongue that she had brewed up in her room. It didn't exactly bring her to euphoria like it promised, but it at least got rid of the guilt and exhaustion she felt constantly, replacing it with a gentle haze of brightness. She fumbled with her mother's necklace she decided to wear, despite her distaste of its power, waiting patiently for Draco, Perseus, and Mr. Malfoy to Floo in.
Restraining herself from reaching for her wand, she politely asked Draco if his father could use a spell to get rid of the dust that pressed horribly against everyone's black outfit. He giggled at her request, realizing it was the first time he had laughed in months. Lucius obliged, brushing everyone off with a quick flick of his wand.
Just in time, the Minister walked up to the group and joyously laughed, vigorously shaking Lucius's hand. "Very nice to see you again Lucius! Have you gotten taller Draco? Yes, you certainly have!"
"And who are the new faces?" he gleamed over at the two tall, raven-haired siblings, who were strikingly beautiful.
Adelaide gave the Minister a bright, beautiful smile and reached out her hand, "Adelaide Burke, it's a pleasure."
The Minister's face paled slightly. Perseus gave him a charming smile and reached in, "Do forgive us our last name Minister, the Malfoys took us in after our parents and brother..well you already know. Anyways, I'm Perseus, Perseus Burke."
The color restored to the Minister's face as he laughed joyously, "Of course, of course. Your parent's actions are not your fault. Glad to hear the Malfoys have continued their extreme generosity as always."
What an idiot, no wonder Lucius was able to slither into the Ministry so easily.
Adelaide took this chance to further charm the Minister by slipping her arm into his and discussing about Ministry internship positions. He laughed and exclaimed back to Lucius, "This one's a true Slytherin, eh?" he turned his attention back to Adelaide, "Of course, I mean this with the highest regard. I do admire our House's fierce ambition. Wish more people had it! The Ministry would work a lot more smoothly." She gave a fake laugh that lit up the room. Draco's heart sped up, even her fake laugh and charm still had a major effect on him.
They all took a seat and ordered their food. The Minister, impressed with Adelaide's wit and charm, decided to indulge in her request for an internship, "So, what department in the Ministry are you interested in working for Adelaide?" Her eyes glowed with excitement and she leaned in laughing, "Oh please Minister, call me Addie." her brother resisted the urge to gag as his sister used her charming aura on the Minister. She definitely knew how to get what she wanted. "I want to work for the Department of Mysteries as an Unspeakable."
