Belvina Black was like a sweet poison. She craved power, safety, and wealth not uncommon to her fellow Slytherins, but the difference was she was guided heavily by her emotions. Her family raised her to a certain standard, her superiority complex because of her blood and family caused her to be cruel to others who didn't meet the same standards.
She had manipulated almost every person in her life and never regretted a thing. Her older brother Regulus had just recently joined the ranks of a powerful Dark Wizard who went by the name of Tom Riddle.
He was incredibly handsome, charismatic, and powerful, everything Belvina desired. The number of his followers rose by the day and she saw him as an opportunity. She would make him fall in love with her and she would be by the side of the most powerful wizard in history.
Little did she know, he was incapable of love. Conceived under a Love Potion, he was just as manipulative, just as cunning, but he was not driven by emotion, he was driven purely by intellect. She blindly pursued him after graduation, her parents immensely disappointed she had yet to secure a husband like the rest of the girls her age. They worried that all the purebloods would be taken and they'd have to resort to marrying her off to one of her cousins. They'd rather that than the alternative of sinking to the level of a halfblood.
Sirius had completely betrayed the family. Their parents could sense he was different when he first started Hogwarts, he didn't carry the same cruelty that they all did. Everyone knew it was sooner or later he would become a blood traitor. They couldn't risk another failure in the family.
Belvina begged Regulus to introduce her to the Dark Lord, putting on quite a show with persuasive tears, "Please Regulus, mother and father are breathing down my neck. You don't understand what it's like. They aren't pressuring you the way they are me. Please I just want to meet him. That's all I ask."
Regulus clenched his jaw, at the predicament he found himself in. He knew the Dark Lord was powerful and manipulative. However, she was just as devious and evil. They were perfect for each other. However, Regulus fully intended on taking The Dark Lord down. He found out about the horcruxes he was creating and was already on a trail to destroy one of them.
He shared no affection for his sister. She cared for no one but herself, she was completely swept away by the pureblood ideals. Her heart was so cold, he often wondered whether she was also conceived under a love potion like the Dark Lord. He sighed and agreed to take her to the Dark Lord, not knowing exactly what her plan was. He had seen her seduce many men much to his distaste, but he knew she was no match for Tom Riddle.
The Dark Lord could see through anyone like sheet of glass. He could tell the Dark Lord was beginning to question Regulus' loyalty, but he had yet to confront him on it. He invited the Dark Lord one night for dinner to meet his sister, begrudgingly.
"I've heard great things about you, My Lord." she snaked her hand on his arm, "I do, however, enjoy hearing accounts first-hand. Surely, you wouldn't mind indulging me sometime?" she gazed up at his chocolate brown eyes that carried not even the slightest hint of warmth. However, she found herself enraptured by the way he made her feel, almost as though his presence was drawing her in.
Tom Riddle did indeed carry a blanket of charisma around him like a magnetic field. His gestures and expressions were captivating and he carried this confidence and power that made everyone melt at his words.
He flashed her a charming smile that caught Regulus off guard, "I wouldn't mind at all, Ms. Black."
How she could fake a blush was beyond Regulus, but she did, whispering, "I look forward to it, My Lord and please, do call me Belvina."
