Perseus urged Adelaide to wait at least another three days before returning, but she was too worried about Draco and she hated lying in the hospital bed completely useless. She felt fine and thought that Perseus was just being dramatic.

Adelaide practically fell through the Floo with little grace, stumbling horribly into the Malfoy Manor. She found Draco curled up on the couch reading a book quietly. She cursed herself for ruining his moment of peace as he frantically got up and helped her towards the couch next to him.

"Addie, what are you doing? You should still be at the hospital!" he scolded, his brow furrowed as he gazed upon her sickly pale complexion.

She swatted sarcastically in the air, "I'm fine Draco, really. You can be such a drama queen sometimes." she smiled shyly trying to suppress her giggle since Draco clearly didn't appreciate the joke, "I'm serious Addie, you scared the hell out of me." his tone beginning to grow more angry and a bit shaky.

Adelaide bit her lip, "I know, I'm sorry..I just couldn't stay there anymore. I had to see you."

Draco sighed, wrapping his arm gently around her and kissing the top of her head. The Malfoys and Burkes were now deeply dishonored for letting Harry escape, even though Adelaide was barely a third-party of the skirmish. Word of the event spread like wildfire throughout the Death Eater community, many people were violently seizing the opportunity to rise through the ranks and establish themselves as the highest ranking Death Eater.

Ever since, the Malfoys and Adelaide had been lying low in their recovery. Perseus didn't have the luxury as he had to try to track down Potter and his two friends. Adelaide could tell Perseus was still angry at her for being overpowered by three ordinary wizards. Little did he know, it was intentional. If she wanted them captured, they would've been in the dungeons right now or probably already killed by the Dark Lord.

Adelaide looked nervously behind her to make sure no one was in the room and whispered, "He knew we let him go."

Draco snapped, "Merlin Addie, not here."

She clenched her jaw pulling his collar slightly, "If he talks, we're screwed Draco. We have to do something."

Draco leaned away, "What do you want me to do Addie? He's gone! Who's he going to tell anyways? I doubt he's smart enough to have put the pieces together. He thinks we hate him."

"We do hate him."

"You know what I meant."

Adelaide shifted uncomfortably on the couch. Fred and George probably had a sneaking suspicion of her now that she fake killed them and let the rest of their family live. Harry's muggle born friend definitely knew something was shifted in Adelaide's loyalty when she helped her in the Malfoy Manor. Draco was literally face-to-face with Potter and they exchanged silent words, he knew they had lied about not recognizing him. What if the Dark Lord found out?

A shiver flew down her spine and she whispered, "Too many people know that we're shifting our loyalty. Someone will notice."

Draco looked down at her fearfully, knowing that she was right, "Let me worry about it please Addie. You need rest, you look awful."

Adelaide grumbled, "Try not to sugar coat it." laying her head in his lap. He flashed her a cheeky smile, stroking her hair, "You're still the most beautiful girl in the world."

Adelaide smiled as she slowly fell back asleep.

Adelaide woke up, realizing she was in Draco's bed. She shivered at the coldness that seeped through her skin. It was pitch black outside, usually meaning Draco was not asleep. His sleeping habits troubled Adelaide deeply. The dark circles seemed to permanently cling to his light grey eyes that carried a stormy restlessness in them.
