Epilogue

(Aria's POV)

"Aria, I will not hesitate to spank your ass raw." He growled.

"Promises, promises." I grinned.

I thought I could be quicker than him. I should've known better.

He swiftly jumped across the couch and grabbed me. We landed on the floor, but he moved us so that I landed on top of him instead of under him.

"I'm sorry." I said quickly, in hopes of saving my butt. I started kissing him all over his face which earned me a smile.

One hand moved down and he grabbed one of my cheeks in his hands. My ducky undies did nothing to protect me.

"I love you."

"I love you, Koneko."

"Truce?"

"Not hardly."

"How about a.....brief pause?"

He looked up at the ceiling as he thought it through.

I used that time to look him over carefully. I did this often. I usually did it when he fell asleep before me, when he was driving, eating across from me, or watching tv. I liked watching him. It gave me a sense of peace.

That's what I learned over the past month or so since everything happened. A mundane life didn't give me peace.

He did. He gave me peace. Being with him gave me peace.

"Why are you crying?" He suddenly asked, brushing my tears away.

"I love you. Very much."

He sat us up so that I was in his lap and hugged me against him. He kissed the side of my head.

"I love you more than you'll ever know." He whispered in my ear.

"Thank you for everything you do and have ever done for me."

"You do far more for me than I could ever do for you."

"Not true." I said, shaking my head.

"Yes, true. You give me a reason to breathe."

"We're each other's reason for breathing."

He nodded and kissed me. The kind of kiss that left me breathless and wanting more.

"You can have your truce." He murmured against my lips.

My arms wrapped around his neck. "I changed my mind, I don't want it."

We didn't make it to the bedroom. We only managed to make it to the couch. There we.....eventually made a truce.

(Ryu's POV)

I stood in the shower as the cold water rained down over me. It was refreshing as always.

I smiled when I heard Aria singing from the kitchen. She did that a lot these days. She'd make up her own songs about whatever she was doing or whatever I was doing. She never failed to entertain me.

Since Jun and I signed those papers, he's only called me once. It wasn't anything big, he just needed some advice.
Vince calls once every two weeks. Aria answers those phone calls since I ignore them.

Life has become peaceful.....but our way of peaceful. We have our ups and down, more ups than downs though. We bicker every now and then, but we never go to bed upset.

Our pet population seems to be growing as well. I complain, but I really don't care. She could put a f*cking petting zoo in the backyard and I wouldn't argue with her.

The video I sent out was seen by thousands and people acted as I assumed they would. They tried to dissect the video and alter it to try and see my face. Nothing worked for them. I was still the faceless assassin.

A majority of people had the same response to the video. They all agreed to not look for me and to pretend I don't exist. Others? Well they still plan on trying to find me, but they won't get very far. Aimoto and I spent a week making sure of that.

Now all that's left to do is......simple be. I've never asked for much in life. All I've ever asked for is the chance to live in peace with the love of my life and best friend.

And after years of fighting for it, I'm finally getting my chance.

I can honestly say that I love this couple more than any other couple so far. Something about Ryu's psychopathic brain and Aria's sweetness just gets to me.

Maybe they're my spirit animals.
